Chapter 1004: Just What I Wished For

Chapter 1004: Just What I Wished For

"Get out of here, stop being an eyesore." Charlotte Reed cursed angrily, then turned and pushed Hayley Cole inside, "Hayley, ignore him. Come, let’s go inside and talk."Once inside the room, Charlotte Reed turned and pointed at James Reed: "I’ll deal with you later."

After saying this, Charlotte Reed closed the door.

Ethan Seymour frowned and asked James Reed, "Hayley was living so well here, why did you drive her away?"

"Dad, Hayley has been here for so long..." James Reed explained.

"Our family isn’t so poor that we can’t afford to keep one more person." Ethan Seymour interrupted James Reed disgruntledly.

James Reed felt truly aggrieved: "Dad, that’s not what I meant. I’m saying Hayley has been living here for a long time and should go home now. Otherwise, her parents might worry. I’m thinking about her well-being."

"Alright, what are you thinking about?" Ethan Seymour scolded him, "You better head back quickly, stop causing trouble here!"

After Ethan Seymour drove James Reed away, he was secretly upset, wondering why his son was so unaccomplished.

Such a good opportunity was right in front of him, how could he not know how to seize it?

He was worrying frantically for him.

Inside the room, Charlotte Reed first wrung out a warm towel, handed it to Hayley Cole, and said, "Hayley, wipe your face, otherwise you’ll not look pretty."

"Auntie," Hayley Cole couldn’t help but chide playfully, "I’m not a child anymore."

Charlotte Reed laughed, "To me, you’re a child no matter how old you get."

Hearing Charlotte Reed’s affectionate words, Hayley Cole’s tears, which had just stopped, started to flow again.

"Auntie, you’re so good to me, but James dislikes me so much!" Hayley Cole lamented uncomfortably, wringing the towel in her hands into a twist.

"Silly girl, how could James dislike you? If he did, why would he let you stay?" Charlotte Reed affectionately hugged Hayley Cole and said with a smile, "He is worried about you; he’s concerned you’ll be away too long and your parents will worry."

Charlotte Reed had overheard the conversation between James Reed and Ethan Seymour outside the door. Of course, she agreed with her son’s actions.

Hayley Cole had been living at the house for quite some time; it was time to make a move.

"I don’t want to go back, Auntie, I’d like to stay at your home." Hayley Cole swung Charlotte Reed’s arm, pouting.

"I wish you could too, but..." Charlotte Reed lovingly patted Hayley Cole’s arm, hesitantly began, "Hayley, I have a question to ask you, but please don’t be angry with me."

"Auntie, go ahead. Why would I be angry?" Hayley Cole replied with a smile.

"Well then, I’ll ask." Charlotte Reed seemed assured and asked, "Hayley, if I haven’t misjudged, do you like James?"

Hayley Cole was taken aback, then shyly lowered her head, "Auntie, I..."

"Silly girl, what’s there to be shy about?" Charlotte Reed said amusingly, "I liked you from the first moment I saw you, wishing you were part of my family."

"I guessed you might like James, and I’m thrilled about it." Charlotte Reed’s words made Hayley Cole extremely happy. She quickly said, "I do like James. I want... I want... to be part of your family, Auntie!"

"Oh, that’s exactly what I wish for!" Charlotte Reed said excitedly.
