My Perfect Female CEO

Chapter 1300: Only the Dead Can Keep Secrets

Chapter 1300: Only the Dead Can Keep Secrets

Zhao Feipeng was in real agony. As for this younger brother Zhao Zhongtian, he was utterly, utterly disappointed. He had done so much in the past, all in the hope that Zhao Zhongtian would turn over a new leaf, but he never imagined it would all end up in a scene like this.Everything he had given in the past, to Zhao Zhongtian, was nothing but pity and charity.

Zhao Feipeng just couldn’t understand why Zhao Zhongtian never took it as kindly meant advice, as hopeful encouragement.

In the face of this, what more could Zhao Feipeng even say?

That Zhao Zhongtian could change this much was something he had never, ever seen coming.

"Who would have thought you’d turn into a cold-blooded demon, through and through." Zhao Feipeng said in bitter disappointment, "Back then I gave you so much tolerance and help, just hoping you’d reform, but I never expected you’d just get worse and worse."

With a sigh, Zhao Feipeng said bitterly, "At this point, I don’t even recognize you anymore."

"I admit, you gave me quite a few benefits, but that was all what I deserved. As a direct descendant of the Zhao Family, why should I even have to look at your face to spend money, need your approval?" Zhao Zhongtian snapped back angrily, "Yeah, I blow money, I lost a lot in the stock market and casinos. So what? That’s what I enjoy. Can you control that? What right do you have to point fingers at me, preaching in that ’it’s for your own good’ tone? Do you know how disgusting you are? So I squandered some family assets, so what? The Zhao Family is huge and rich. I’m not allowed to be a wastrel?"

"Heh, do you have any idea how much of the family property you’ve burned through? How much debt I paid off for you? And you still have the face to stand here and righteously claim you did nothing wrong. Was your conscience eaten by dogs, have you lost every bit of awareness?" Zhao Feipeng was almost exploding with rage. "Forget the hard cash debts—just in terms of family businesses, do you know how much you’ve lost for us?"

"How much could it be? Compared to the whole family business, what I lost is just a drop in the bucket." Zhao Zhongtian said carelessly.

"A drop in the bucket? Heh, I don’t know if you’re ignorant or just lying to yourself. Over the years the assets you’ve squandered make up twenty percent of the Zhao Family’s entire holdings, and you still call that a drop in the bucket?" Zhao Feipeng roared again and again.

"That’s just what you say. Who knows if it’s true or not." Zhao Zhongtian said with contempt, "Besides, I don’t care about that anyway."

"You don’t care about that, then what do you care about?" Zhao Feipeng said furiously. "Do you want me to carefully tally it all up and show you just how much loss you’ve caused the family over these years?"

"No need. That’s not what I care about. What I care about is how much of the Zhao Family’s assets will end up under my name." Zhao Zhongtian sneered darkly. "No—more accurately, everything the Zhao Family owns will be mine. No one can change that."

"You heartless bastard. I paid off so many of your debts just so people wouldn’t laugh at you, hoping you’d wake up in time and not stay lost in your delusions. I never thought you’d show no gratitude at all, hiding a demon this big in your heart." Step by step, Zhao Feipeng finally saw Zhao Zhongtian’s shameless true face clearly.

"Say whatever you like. No amount of quibbling or excuses can change the situation you’re in now." Zhao Zhongtian snorted.

"Which of my words wasn’t reasonable, and yet out of your mouth they’re called ’quibbles’? Heh, you really are beyond saving." Zhao Feipeng said, almost beside himself with anger. "Of course, to you, money is everything. Have you ever cared about anything else?"

"As a prisoner in chains, you should have the awareness of a prisoner in chains. Don’t be spewing insults at others like some shrew; it’s not a good look." Zhao Zhongtian said impatiently. "Right now you’ve completely fallen to the level of a condemned prisoner. Don’t dream about any chance of survival. Obediently surrender and, according to my instructions, transfer all of the Zhao Family’s assets into my hands. I can still spare you. Otherwise, don’t blame me for coming down hard. I believe, for the sake of Jian Tao and her daughter, you’ll make a choice that satisfies me."

"Do you know why Dad never transferred the shares into your hands?" Zhao Feipeng asked in bitter disappointment.

"That old geezer must have had a brain cramp before he was hospitalized, that’s the only reason he gave all the shares to you." Zhao Zhongtian was furious.

"No, you’re wrong." Zhao Feipeng glared at Zhao Zhongtian. "Dad had foresight. He knew what kind of man you are; whatever he gave you, you’d ruin it all, so he didn’t give you any shares. Dad left another will. If you turned over a new leaf, the portion that belongs to you, no one could take it away. But if you kept making mistake after mistake, then everything of the Zhao Family would have nothing to do with you at all."

"That old geezer still had this trick up his sleeve. Good thing I chose the path I did today, or else I wouldn’t get anything at all." Zhao Zhongtian was smug over everything he’d done.

"Seeing how you’re reacting now, I know you’re a shameless bastard. You dare call Dad ’that old geezer’? Do you have even a shred of humanity left?" Zhao Feipeng was furious.

"A clay Buddha crossing the river can’t even save himself, and you still have the time to fuss over that old geezer?" Zhao Zhongtian chuckled disdainfully.

Zhao Feipeng took a few deep breaths, adjusted his state, then finally asked in anguish, "Let me ask you: when you plotted against my son, did you feel even a moment of guilt?"

"What’s the point of harping on this useless shit?" Zhao Zhongtian said impatiently.

"So that means, for what you did to Jian Tao and her daughter, you don’t feel the slightest bit of guilt or remorse either?" Zhao Feipeng pressed.

"Tell me, are you really stupid or just pretending to be?" Zhao Zhongtian said mockingly. "Why the hell would I torment myself over people who have nothing to do with me?"

"People who have nothing to do with you... heh, people who have nothing to do with you." Zhao Feipeng murmured, his eyes filled with sorrow.

He closed his eyes. He already knew everything he wanted to know and no longer wished to say another word to Zhao Zhongtian. After a moment, he opened his eyes and stared at Heipi. "The ones who tried to kill my son, they were sent by you, weren’t they?"

"That’s right, I sent them." Heipi replied coldly.

"The man who drove the truck into my son was silenced by you, wasn’t he?" Zhao Feipeng asked slowly, forcing himself to suppress his rage.

"Only a dead man can keep a secret." Heipi admitted to the killing. "Being able to figure that out means you’re not unworthy of the title of Patriarch. I only act on commission. If you want to hate someone, hate whoever you want. I don’t believe in that crap about ’the debtor has his creditor, the grudge has its rightful owner.’ I only believe in my own fists and strength."

"There’s one thing I can tell you. Once you hear it, you’ll definitely find it unbelievable." Zhao Feipeng said with a hint of interest.

"What?" The moment he saw the look on Zhao Feipeng’s face, Heipi’s expression changed.

"The fact that you sent people to kill my son, and then silenced the truck driver—you weren’t found out by my deduction. Someone showed me the evidence." Zhao Feipeng explained.

"What?" Heipi’s face went ashen in shock.
