Spy Wars: Strong Agents Who Are Ruthless and Talk Little

Chapter 477 The Sound of Quick Footsteps

Chapter 477 The Sound of Quick Footsteps

"This information should help me figure out some things." He muttered to himself and made up his mind.

Su Ming's movements were always impeccable, almost nimble and unpredictable. He knew full well that the enemy he faced was formidable, and the slightest misstep would expose his whereabouts. Yet, each of his steps was as silent as a shadow, his movements swift and precise, as if blending seamlessly into the darkness. His body moved through the shadows of the corridor as if weightless, his footsteps so light they made almost no sound, even the air seeming to be deftly avoided.

"Don't get discovered," Su Ming mentally warned himself repeatedly. Even though the tension within him was nearly suffocating, he forced himself to remain calm. With every sneak move, every movement, he considered every possible risk. Every corner, every door ahead, could hide an enemy. Although he had long been prepared for danger, he remained wary.

He turned corner after corner silently, the light growing dimmer. From the end of the corridor, a few muffled conversations reached him. Su Ming's heartbeat quickened, but he didn't rush to act. Instead, he stood still, holding his breath and listening quietly.

"Are you sure he went in?" A voice was low and a little impatient.

"Definitely." Another voice replied with some confidence, "He has no other choice. He must enter from here."

"Then we'll just wait for him." The first voice sneered, "No matter how powerful he is, he's just a newcomer. Can he escape?"

"You underestimated him." The second voice said with a hint of alertness in its tone, "We have been targeted by him. We can't underestimate him this time."

Su Ming's heart suddenly tightened. He knew he had been detected. Despite his cautious sneaking, the enemy was clearly well prepared, even waiting for him. At this moment, every thought in his mind was racing, thinking about how to break through the current predicament.

"What should I do?" A flicker of anxiety crossed Su Ming's mind, but he quickly calmed himself down. His agility was already exceptional, and if he exposed his whereabouts at this moment, he might find himself in even greater trouble. The two men before him were clearly aware of his presence, and if he attacked rashly, he would likely be surrounded by the enemy.

He quickly adjusted his breathing, raised his foot and took a few light steps, quietly retreating a few steps, hiding in the shadows along the corner of the wall. This place, although hidden, was still full of danger. Su Ming's eyes were fixed on the front, and his mind kept recalling those hidden techniques, how to disappear without a trace in an instant, how to eliminate the enemy's threat without leaving a trace.

"Just wait." A cold light flashed in Su Ming's eyes. He did not intend to wait passively, but to take the initiative to break the deadlock.

He closed his eyes and recalled the experience he had accumulated from past missions. Every time he stole, every time he fought, he knew that agility and speed were the difference between life and death. And now, he had to use all of this to deal with the dilemma before him.

He took a deep breath and leaped up, his body as swift as a cheetah. He instantly disappeared from his hiding place and, with a gust of wind, pounced on the enemy in front of him. The two people who had been whispering to each other were unable to react at all. They only saw a black shadow pass by, and then Su Ming appeared in front of them.

"You—" The first enemy's eyes widened in shock. Before he could finish his words, Su Ming had already rushed over and instantly sealed his throat with a precise palm strike. The second enemy panicked and tried to draw his weapon, but before he could react, Su Ming's hand had quickly grabbed his wrist and pinned him to the ground.

"Try to move," Su Ming warned in a low voice, his tone calm and firm, his eyes filled with menace. The enemy was stunned, having never expected to be subdued so quickly.

He quickly searched the two men for weapons and communicators, ensuring he hadn't missed any useful information. Although he was still nervous, his movements were still swift and precise, as if everything was under his control.

"These two should be the outer guards," Su Ming silently analyzed. He quickly put away their weapons and checked the surroundings. The corridor remained silent, with only occasional whispers in the distance. It was clear that the enemy had not realized they had been eliminated.

He wasted no time, quickly leaving the area. Every step was filled with caution, not wanting to be careless. The previous battle, though brief, had made him realize that the enemy had begun to become wary of him. He could no longer continue to sneak around like this; he had to be more cautious to break through the numerous defenses.

"Where exactly is Zheng Yaoxian?" Su Ming's mind resurfaced with the name. He knew he had been drawn into a complicated situation. Zheng Yaoxian's disappearance seemed to have drawn out a deeper mystery. The closer he got to the truth, the more he felt the complexity of the matter was beyond his imagination.

His movements were still swift and light, each one akin to a meticulous calculation, but at this moment, a heavy weight weighed on his heart. Every step could mean the difference between life and death, and any moment of negligence could plunge him into a desperate situation.

"We must find Zheng Yaoxian." He muttered to himself, without stopping, his eyes becoming more determined.

At that moment, a sudden burst of hurried footsteps echoed from the end of the corridor. Su Ming's heart skipped a beat, and he quickly ducked into the shadows to one side, holding his breath and listening intently. The sounds from the corridor grew closer, and he could almost feel the oppressive force coming towards him.

Su Ming stood quietly in the shadows, listening to the approaching footsteps. His heartbeat pounded violently in his chest, as if every beat reminded him of the danger that lay before him. The oppressive feeling in the air grew stronger, and the surrounding silence seemed to mock his loneliness. The feeling of isolation and helplessness made him involuntarily tighten his grip on the weapon, his fingertips tense and a trace of cold sweat seeped out.

He knew he had reached the point of no return. The enemy in front of him was getting closer and closer, and all he could do now was to remain hidden and calm. Every second of waiting was like torture, but he knew that the consequences of being exposed would be fatal. His eyes were fixed on the front, his ears carefully listening for every movement.

The footsteps gradually stopped, and were followed by a low conversation.
