Chapter 355: The Twist of Fate and the Inescapable Cycle

Chapter 355: The Twist of Fate and the Inescapable Cycle

A twist of fate and an inescapable cycle

Feng Jing walked with heavy steps toward the magnificent palace. Every step seemed to weigh on his heart, as if an invisible force was pulling him forward. The surrounding streets were still bustling with people laughing and talking, as if everything was harmonious and unreal. But he knew in his heart that behind this palace lay a great secret.

That him, that Feng Jing who looked exactly like him, was approaching the palace gate step by step. Feng Jing's eyes followed him closely, and every nerve in his body told him that this him was not himself, but a "substitute" pushed by fate to a specific trajectory.

As he approached the palace, Feng Jing felt an indescribable sense of oppression, as if he were trapped in an abyss, unable to breathe, unable to escape. His feet seemed bound by an invisible force, each step growing heavier. It was as if the world was challenging him, telling him he would never reach his desired destination.

When he finally stepped through the palace's gates, the sight before him was even more astounding. The palace's interior was immense, the entire space twisted and distorted, as if belonging to no known dimension. A golden light streamed down from the ceiling, but it was blindingly bright, not warm but cold, as if filtering down from the depths of countless stars.

Feng Jing's eyes narrowed slightly as he glanced nervously around. In the center of the palace sat a massive figure clad in golden armor, its face hidden beneath the armor, making it impossible to discern. Behind the figure, surprisingly, was a massive circular mirror, reflecting a completely different scene—a ruined landscape, a black sky streaked with lightning, and gigantic creatures roamed the ruins. Feng Jing saw himself in the mirror, covered in blood, standing amidst the ruins, his gaze empty, as if abandoned by fate.

"What...what is this?" Feng Jing's voice echoed in the empty palace, but no one responded. He took a deep breath and stepped forward, trying to get closer to the golden-armored figure. But with every step, a strong feeling behind him told him, "No."

"You can never escape your fate." A deep voice rang out. Feng Jing turned around and saw the giant sitting on the golden throne. The giant slowly raised his head, and Feng Jing was shocked to find that it was actually him! However, his face was completely obscured by armor, and his eyes revealed endless indifference and loneliness.

"You...how could it be me?" Feng Jing could hardly believe his eyes. Feng Jing in the golden armor looked extremely powerful, but without a trace of warmth, as if he was no longer a human being, but some kind of cold-blooded mechanical existence.

Feng Jing, wearing golden armor, stood up and walked towards him. His voice seemed to come from the abyss: "You think you have transcended fate and yourself, but you are nothing but an escapist. You are constantly traveling through dreams, searching for your own meaning, but you have never realized that every level you experience is just a part of your endless reincarnation."

"Reincarnation?" Feng Jing's heart was shocked, and he suddenly realized that he might have been circulating in this dream tower, repeating the same process over and over again, but each time he was not exactly the same, and each time he would choose a different path.

"You're not just searching for power, you're searching for an exit, a self free from its confines." Feng Jing, in golden armor, sneered, "But you'll never find an exit, because there isn't one here. All your choices have already been arranged, and every possibility is a fate you can't escape."

Feng Jing's heart churned, and he clenched his fists as an indescribable rage surged within him. He was unwilling to give in to this seemingly unsolvable dream.

"Then what should I do?" Feng Jing asked, gritting his teeth. "Am I destined to live in this endless cycle forever, forever controlled by fate?"

"You can choose to give up," Feng Jing in golden armor said softly. "Give up all struggle and accept your fate. This way, you will find eternal peace. You will become an omnipotent being, free from all constraints. You will gain everything you desire, but the price is that you will never remember your name again. You will be just an image existing in this endless dream, never to awaken again."

Feng Jing's heart was shaken violently. He could not accept this answer. He could not accept that he had become a soulless image, a part of the dream that he could never escape.

"No! I don't want it!" Feng Jing rushed forward and pounced on the Feng Jing in golden armor. However, the moment his body touched the golden figure, a violent energy shock pushed him back.

"You can't escape," Feng Jing, in golden armor, said coldly, "Every part of you is a part of you. Your efforts and struggles are all arranged by fate. All you can do is accept it, or repeat it over and over again."

Feng Jing's consciousness was suddenly pulled back to reality, and he found himself once again at the bottom of the Dream Tower. All the images had vanished: the palace, Feng Jing in golden armor, and the ruins in the mirror—everything vanished without a trace.

Feng Jing fell to his knees, his heart swirling with indescribable emotions. What was all this all about? Was he truly destined to remain trapped in this dream tower, repeating this forever?

He looked up at the tower wall and saw countless versions of himself, standing in different time and space, making different choices and heading towards different destinies. However, Feng Jing knew that none of these choices were truly free.

"No matter what, I will find a way out." Feng Jing took a deep breath, and an unyielding fire ignited in his eyes. "No matter what fate has in store for me, I will not give up."
