Chapter 570: The Crack of Fate and the Temptation of Nothingness
Chapter 570: The Crack of Fate and the Temptation of Nothingness
The cracks of fate and the temptation of nothingness
Feng Jing's figure floated in the void. Suddenly, a low rumbling sound began to emanate from all around him, as if the entire universe were violently shaking. Cracks in space and time spread like massive chasms in all directions, engulfing everything, as if a natural disaster were about to strike. Feng Jing did not retreat. His eyes gleamed with an increasingly intense light, as if he was about to break free from all restraints and rush towards the ultimate existence that he could not understand.
"Do you really think you can control everything?" The deep voice echoed in his mind again, full of endless sarcasm. "You are just an insignificant being. You can't even see the chessboard of fate clearly. How can you talk about control?"
Feng Jing shuddered. These words pierced his soul like a sharp blade. Yes, he had once believed he could change fate, even reshape the world, but now he realized the rules of this universe were far more complex, absurd, and incomprehensible than he had imagined. Every line, every dimension, even every star, had its own independent life, their existence and death alternating even without any human will.
Countless visions began to surface before Feng Jing's eyes—visions filled with absurdity, strangeness, and endless madness. One world collapsed, another was reborn, and Feng Jing was just a speck of dust, unable to find his true place in it all. He began to see countless versions of himself, some erased by time, some struggling in a different dimension, and some even vanished completely, becoming part of the void.
"Do you think escaping these cracks will change anything?" the voice asked coldly. "You're only deepening the cracks. There's no escape."
Feng Jing's thoughts grew increasingly confused, and he began to realize that his situation was beyond his comprehension. He saw himself suddenly transformed into a formless entity, like a ball of gas floating in the void, without any boundaries or texture. Unable to determine whether he existed or not, he could only wander in the endless void, searching for an exit, but each attempt only deepened his confusion.
"You are not yourself." The voice seemed to mock him. "Everything you have experienced, all your memories, all your choices, all your pain, is a dream woven for you by a higher being. You never truly existed."
Feng Jing's mind suddenly shook, as if nothing had become real. His consciousness gradually blurred, and the boundaries of time and space began to disappear. He could no longer sense whether he was in a specific dimension, or was simply floating in the endless nothingness.
Just as Feng Jing began to believe he would be lost forever in this labyrinth of nothingness, a blinding light suddenly flashed before his eyes. Like a mysterious bolt of lightning, it illuminated the surrounding darkness and tore apart everything in the void. Feng Jing's heart leaped as he realized he wasn't inescapable. The light wasn't merely physical; it carried a profound symbol, as if telling him that only by breaking free from the constraints of this world could he truly achieve freedom.
"What is that light?" Feng Jing whispered in surprise.
"That is the allure of nothingness." The voice sounded again, this time with an even colder tone. "It is a door leading to a deeper world. It will lead you into endless confusion, becoming a pawn of a higher being. You dare not walk through that door, because you know you will be lost forever."
"Should I enter that door?" Feng Jing's voice was full of anxiety. He was not sure if he was ready.
"You dare not enter." The voice still held a hint of sneer. "You are afraid. You understand that it is not just a door to freedom, but a deeper maze, leading to a more complicated fate, to an ending you cannot understand. You know that you can no longer control yourself."
Feng Jing's eyes once again flashed through those shattered images. The light still flickered in the distance, tempting him toward an unknown abyss. Feng Jing felt an inexplicable force drawing him, and his body seemed to uncontrollably begin to move toward the light.
Suddenly, a strong pulling sensation made it almost impossible for Feng Jing to stand. His body began to be drawn towards the light, and the world before him began to blur, as if the entire universe was paving a path for him to reach nothingness. Feng Jing's heart was filled with emptiness and powerlessness. He seemed to have lost his concentration. He felt himself gradually losing control, as if everything he had swallowed would disappear behind that door.
Just as Feng Jing was about to step through the door, his consciousness erupted in a piercing scream. He struggled to shake off the pull, but it had become a part of him, inseparable. Feng Jing realized that he was no longer the only Feng Jing, but a superposition of countless Feng Jings, the embodiment of countless worlds and countless destinies. No matter what choice he made, this rift in the void would remain forever, and he could not escape.
"Do you want to get rid of this?" the voice asked coldly.
Feng Jing's voice was hoarse and firm: "No, I want to create my own destiny!"
