Chapter 308 Sister Exchange
Chapter 308 Sister Exchange
Si Muyan pondered for a moment and said, "If I'm not mistaken, it was the Second Prince's doing. Shangge, find a way to ram into Second Sister's carriage, but be careful not to hurt her, and get her into our carriage."
Du Shangge wasn't very bright, but she was strong enough. She drove her carriage at breakneck speed. Before anyone could react, she overturned her second sister's carriage.
The second sister and her maid were inside the carriage when they were hit and thrown over. They hit their heads and scraped their hands, but fortunately, the injuries weren't too serious.
The driver was furious and got out of the carriage, yelling, "Who's driving this blind man?!"
"Oh, I'm so sorry, I lost control for a moment, I'm so sorry." Du Shangge jumped out of the carriage, scratched his head, and looked at the carriage in front of him as if he had just noticed it. "Hey, you're the Si family's coachman? Who's sitting in the carriage?"
The second sister finally calmed down. She was still angry, but when she got out of the carriage and saw that it was Du Shangge, she said helplessly, "Shangge, how can you ride a horse so fast in the capital? You were riding too fast."
"I didn't mean to, please forgive me," Du Shangge said, feigning concern, then asked, "Are you alright?"
The second sister shook her head: "It's just a scratch, nothing serious. You can't be so reckless in the future."
But the coachman said, "Second Miss, the carriage is damaged..."
The second sister paused, then asked, "The car was damaged?"
The second prince rushed over, frowned upon seeing the scene, and then turned to look at the people monitoring him. His sharp gaze swept over them, and they all lowered their heads.
He stepped forward and said, "Is the Second Miss's carriage broken down? I happen to have an empty carriage that you can lend to her."
Du Shangge quickly grabbed his second sister: "No need, ride in my car, my car is fine."
The second prince's forehead veins bulged as he forced a smile and said, "If Miss has important business to attend to... a separate carriage would be more convenient."
"It's okay, I have nothing to do today, so I'll be your driver, alright!"
Du Shangge clung to her second sister, clinging to her and acting coquettishly, and the second sister couldn't utter a single word of refusal.
"Thank you for your kindness, Second Prince. Shangge and I are on good terms, so I can ask her for help."
The second sister told Du Shangge the location before getting into the carriage with her maid.
When I went up there, I found that my older sister was there.
Before she could even speak, Si Muyan quickly made a shushing gesture to stop her from calling out.
The second sister paused for a moment, then turned around and found the second prince still watching her. She nodded to him before getting into the carriage.
Once the carriage had gone some distance, Si Muyan whispered, "Don't speak loudly. This is a trap set up for you by the Second Prince. There are his men all around you; they are watching you."
The second sister's eyelids twitched violently, and she recounted everything the second prince had told her: "Eldest sister, why would he lie to me for no reason? I think it might be true."
Si Muyan knew her too well; she was the type who wouldn't turn back until she hit a wall. She asked her maid to help her take off her outer garment and remove the hairpins from her head.
"Second sister, you must trust me. I'll go and investigate for you now. You should hurry and find His Highness Prince Ning."
"But what if... the Second Prince really has ulterior motives?"
The second sister is willing to risk her own life, but she would never want her family to suffer because of her.
"Hurry up, or it will be too late. Don't worry, I will find a way to handle this. Once you arrive, inform His Highness Prince Ning, and he will send someone to rescue me."
Although the second sister was reluctant, she nodded solemnly, knowing that today was the most crucial day.
"Don't worry, sister, I'll be there as soon as possible. Please be careful, sister."
When they arrived at the large mansion, the second sister's heart pounded even harder. Although the mansion was located within Kyoto, the surrounding mansions were very quiet, as if no one lived there.
In other words, if the Second Prince really wanted to frame her, once the eldest sister entered the courtyard and was placed under guard, she would likely be left in a state of utter despair.
The carriage stopped, and Du Shangge called out, "Mu Tong, do you want me to come in with you?"
The second sister instinctively cried out, "No...no need..."
Si Muyan got out of the carriage with her second sister's maid, nodded to Du Shangge, coughed twice as if her throat was sore, and then spoke: "It's okay, I'll call a car myself when I'm done. You can go first."
Du Shangge blinked and said, "Okay, I'm going to go play with your sister now!"
She quickly rode away.
Many guards near the residence automatically parted to let Si Muyan in as she stepped down from the carriage and arrived with her maid.
One of them even stepped forward and asked, "Are you the second young lady of the Si family?"
Si Muyan covered her lips with a handkerchief and whispered, "Hmm, your prince... isn't here?"
"His Highness cannot come, but he is worried about Miss's safety, so he asked me to wait outside."
Si Muyan nodded innocently, "Okay, I'll go in first. If anything happens, I'll call you."
The man's eyes flickered slightly, and he stepped aside to let Si Muyan go inside.
There was no one as I walked from the courtyard toward the main hall.
The maid was filled with unease, and her hands, hidden in her sleeves, trembled involuntarily. She couldn't even understand why the young lady seemed to be strolling around so leisurely.
Isn't she afraid?
Si Muyan slowly walked towards the main hall and heard the sound of the lock being closed outside.
The maid rushed forward, trying to open the door, but couldn't budge it: "What are you doing? This is imprisonment! If the master finds out, he will definitely not let you off!"
Her shouts naturally elicited no other response.
The maidservant was extremely anxious: "There must be another place to get out..."
She ran to pull at the window, but it was nailed shut from the outside.
Si Muyan walked to the table and sat down. She first checked the incense burner to make sure it wasn't lit and there was no strange fragrance in the room. Then she covered the tea and snacks on the table with a tablecloth before clapping her hands.
"No need to look anymore. If they deliberately led us here, why would they leave an exit? Even if there was a mistake, the guards outside wouldn't allow us to escape."
Remembering what the young lady had said in the carriage, the maid composed herself and walked over to say, "Young lady, aren't you... worried?"
"This was expected, so there's no time to worry," Si Muyan said calmly. "Besides, I believe my second sister won't abandon me."
The maidservant, fiddling with her handkerchief, sat anxiously to one side, muttering, "What if... what if no one comes? What will you do, young lady?"
She served the second young lady, and their bond over the past six months was genuine, so she was overjoyed that the second young lady had escaped unharmed. However, the eldest young lady was in danger, and she was the only one by her side. What should she do?
Just then, footsteps came from outside the door, and the guard called out "Your Highness," followed by the sound of the door being opened.
"Second Miss, how have you been?"
