After he became ill, his family invited a wizard to perform a ritual to exorcise the ghosts, and attributed the family's current misfortune to the unlucky location of the ancestral grave chosen by the Feng Shui master.
The strange dream phenomena recorded in "The Taiping Rebellion" are more real and simple than those in books such as "The Taiping Heavenly Sun" and "The Sacred Edict of Heavenly Brother".
Six years later, in 1843, Hong Xiuquan first learned about Christianity when he read "Good Words to Admonish the World".
