Qing Dynasty, Daoguang 19th year
After failing the exam and being exposed by the light curtain, Hong Xiuquan left his hometown as soon as possible.
After learning about my life experience from the screen, I can no longer be content with being ordinary.
I read the book "Good Words to Admonish the World" in advance, and combined it with the dreams I had had, I thought about it for a while and suddenly it dawned on me that I might really be the "savior" who came to the world!
People in remote mountainous areas relied more on the alliance of villages rather than their identification with the Qing Dynasty.
In addition, the Qing Dynasty had long lost its former glory, and those who were dissatisfied with it had secretly united their forces. The huge Qing Dynasty seemed unable to cope with this.
Hong Xiuquan knew Feng Yunshan, who was not only from the same village as him, but also worked as a private school teacher with him.
What’s even more interesting is that he came from a wealthy family, but he never wanted to accept it.
The simple description on the screen did not surprise Feng Yunshan. He knew from a young age that he was different from his family. Rather than sitting at home and enjoying the fruits of others' labor, he preferred to care for the farmers in the fields and think about ways to save the country.
"Hong Xiuquan? So will this path succeed?" Feng Yunshan said to himself, and then shook his head, "How could I forget that the Taiping Rebellion ended in just fourteen years..."
This is a path that has been proven by historical practice to be a dead end, so should he continue?
……
[After hearing this, do you feel that Hong Xiuquan’s thoughts or the early thoughts of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom were still very normal?
Okay, next let’s take a look at the rumors about Heavenly Father and Heavenly Brother!
First, in April 1848, Yang Xiuqing used the local custom of "descending children" to spread rumors that God had descended to earth.
In October of the same year, Xiao Chaogui falsely claimed that he was the descendant of Heaven, so Yang Xiuqing and Xiao Chaogui joined forces to control the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom in Zijing Mountain and the surrounding areas.
Hong Xiuquan was originally very disgusted with the behavior of Yang and Xiao, but in the end he recognized their identity and status as the messengers of heaven. It must be said that in the early stage of the business, it can be seen that there are many differences among them. Even if they tolerate each other, there will always be a day when the accumulation will explode.
The main reason why Hong Xiuquan recognized Yang and Xiao was because Feng Yunshan was arrested and Hong Xiuquan could not handle the whole thing alone. The Taiping Heavenly Kingdom was facing internal and external troubles. Yang and Xiao had both strength and supporters, so Hong Xiuquan had to recognize them.
Of course, the main reason was that Yang and Xiao recognized Hong Xiuquan as their king, and changed Hong Xiuquan from the "leader" of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom to the "true god" of the world. This was in the interests of both parties, and Hong Xiuquan could not say anything wrong. Otherwise, would he be slapping himself in the face?
It was probably during this period that Hong Xiuquan, Yang Xiuqing, and Xiao Chaogui decided to start an uprising against the Qing Dynasty and began to mobilize the core members of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom to raise anti-Qing ideas.
<Huh? ? ? I don’t understand. Didn’t Hong Xiuquan claim to be the second son of heaven? Now there is another Heavenly Father and Heavenly Brother. Where does this put Hong Xiuquan? [covering face]>
<This is too abstract. It is indeed the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. This is the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom I know, and it is consistent with my usual understanding of them [laughing and crying]>
<This hasn’t even started yet, but there are already signs of internal strife and power grabbing. How petty>
<This is the limitation of peasant class uprising>
<I think the reason why the Taiping Kingdom failed was because it was too advanced. You have to know that Confucianism has a transcendent status in my country for thousands of years. If they were just fighting against the Qing Dynasty, perhaps the Han gentry would help them. But if you are anti-Confucian and unwilling to give them benefits, you will eventually push them to the Qing Dynasty. There is a saying that goes, unite all the forces that can be united [eat melon]>
[Emperor Gaozu of Han Liu Bang: Let’s start an uprising, it’s just a mess]
[Emperor Hongwu of the Ming Dynasty: What's wrong with peasant uprisings? Isn't this a successful example? The Ming Empire was established for hundreds of years!]
[Tang Taizong Li Shimin: The hidden danger of internal strife before the expedition is a sign of failure]
[Ming Chongzhen Emperor Zhu Youjian: Well, we must unite all possible people and work together to eliminate the same target!]

Han Dynasty, the fifth year of Yuanshou
"Unreliable."
Although Liu Che himself was superstitious, he did not believe that he could conquer the world by relying on the help of his Heavenly Father or Heavenly Brother.
"It's possible to fool the ignorant people, but it's impossible to get the wealthy families to stand on one side."
Among his ministers, there were those who came from humble backgrounds but reached high positions through their own abilities, like Wei Qing and Huo Qubing, and there were also those who came from wealthy backgrounds and were carefully cultivated since childhood, like Zhuang Qingzhai and Sang Hongyang.
Hong Xiuquan's theory could not convince them at all.
"Before Emperor Gaozu's uprising of killing the white snake, there was the uprising of Chen Sheng and Wu Guang, but it was Emperor Gaozu who finally conquered the world and established the Han Dynasty. And Hong Xiuquan's Taiping Taiguo is just like the uprising of Chen Sheng and Wu Guang at the end of the Qin Dynasty. It will be the first to fail, and the truly successful ones will appear later."
Prime Minister Zhuang Qingzhai expressed his understanding of Hong Xiuquan and the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom.
Liu Che nodded. He thought the same about the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. They were heroes against the Qing Dynasty but not the ultimate victors.
"Well... maybe they have already been oppressed by local gentry, so why would they want to unite them?" Wei Qing knew from the previous video that Guangmu actually had an admiring attitude towards the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom.
"Is there really anyone who can succeed without relying on classes like the gentry?" Sang Hongyang asked the key question.
For a moment, the hall fell into silence.
The first thing Liu Che thought of was China over the next two thousand years. They said, "Long live the people!" So did they achieve victory by relying on ordinary people?
……
[Hong Xiuquan's anti-Qing thoughts are mainly manifested in "On the Original Way to Awaken the World" and "The Taiping Heavenly Sun".
The Original Dao Awakening World Instructions was written between the end of 1847 and the beginning of 1848. The book first points out that "the Supreme God is the Emperor. It is enough for the ruler of the world to be called a king. How can we allow the slightest usurpation of the title! Even the Lord Jesus, the prince of the Emperor, can only be called the Lord... Jesus cannot be called the Emperor, so who is he to dare to be called the Emperor!"
This is the first time he mentioned in the book that it was a mistake for the emperors of all dynasties to usurp the throne. It can also be seen from this that Hong Xiuquan had made it clear that he wanted to fight against the Qing Dynasty.
It even clearly referred to the Qing rulers as "snake demons, Yama demons, and evil ghosts, who are worshipped by the Tatars, so today they are regarded as demons by the barbarians." This is also the origin of the Taiping Army's name "Qing demons."
"Taiping Tianri" was written in the winter of 1848. The book mainly describes the story of Hong Xiuquan's dream in Dingyou, and how he was ordered by his father and brother in the dream to come down to earth to kill evil and keep good, demolish temples and expel demons.
During this period, Hong Xiuquan also wrote a poem:
The atmosphere in modern times is very different. We know that God is willing to inspire heroes.
China has been trapped, but God should be revered.
The wise ruler once wrote poems to praise the chrysanthemum, and the Han Emperor sang songs while setting up banquets.
Since ancient times, all business is done by people, and the black fog is collected in a mirror.
In this poem, Hong Xiuquan expressed that the world was in chaos and it was time for heroes to rise up. He compared himself to Liu Bang and Zhu Yuanzhang, and believed that he could overthrow the Qing Dynasty and usher in light.
Putting aside other things, I think Hong Xiuquan's writing style is OK. I don't know what Liu Bang and Zhu Yuanzhang would think after reading this poem.
Hong Xiuquan himself admired Zhu Yuanzhang very much. After conquering Nanjing, he immediately went to the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum to report the good news to Zhu Yuanzhang. He first offered sacrifices, and then hoped that Zhu Yuanzhang would bless them to expel the Tatars like he had done.
In fact, it seems that Zhu Yuanzhang's status was still very high in the late Qing Dynasty. Anyone who was against the Qing Dynasty had to go to Nanjing to pay homage to him.
Zhu Yuanzhang is said to have rebuilt China, and it is not just talk. 】
<The Taiping Heavenly Kingdom’s words sounded so nice, but in the end, they began to indulge in extravagance and debauchery before the world was even at peace>
<I can only say that the idea was a bit ahead of its time, but it was also a good beginning, laying a certain foundation for the later Xinhai Revolution. At least it let us know that this emperor was not necessary>
<Alas, if the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom had not turned into another evil dragon during the dragon slaying, and if they had also successfully implemented the "New Treatise on Aids to Administration", perhaps modern China in history would have developed differently>
<The Taiping Heavenly Kingdom may not be good, but the Qing demons and the Hunan Army at that time were even less human>
<I miss the Taiping Army that had not yet entered Nanjing City at that time, and I miss the Taiping Army that marched forward bravely and wanted to welcome the light [sigh]>
<The two people written in Hong Xiuquan’s poem, Liu Bang and Zhu Yuanzhang, are so rare that few people can reach their heights.>
[Song Taizu Zhao Kuangyin: Therefore, the rebel army needs scholars, a set of rules and regulations, and a clear strategic direction in order to better lead the development]
[Emperor Zhengde of the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Houzhao: Oh, what a pity! They have already reached Nanjing]
[Emperor Jiajing of the Ming Dynasty Zhu Houcong: There will be more righteous men who will stand up and overthrow the Qing Dynasty demons. The Qing Dynasty demons will be destroyed]
