Chapter 182 Underground World
Chapter 182 Underground World
At this moment, Mengling seemed to have become a colossal whale that controlled the tides and the sky. Its majesty and aura made the Rift-Tailed Tiger pause slightly, but then it let out a deafening roar and pounced!
The Crack-Tailed Tiger moved swiftly, its tail sweeping across like a whip, the tip of which was studded with spikes, its target aimed directly at Dream Spirit's head.
Mengling, however, remained calm and composed. She gently flapped her broad wings, generating a hurricane-like force that forcefully deflected the slashing tail of the Crack-Tailed Tiger.
Amidst the howling wind, the split-tailed tiger staggered a couple of steps, but still pounced on Mengling's body with all its might. This time, it raised its sharp front claws high, and with the force of thunder, smashed one claw down on Mengling's heart!
"Buzz—" The spiritual energy around Mengling's body instantly circulated, and a faint blue light shield formed in front of her.
With a loud bang, the Crack-tailed Tiger's claws were deflected by the light shield, the shock making its chest feel tight. The beast showed no sign of retreating; it stomped its foot, using the recoil to flip and attack, opening its blood-red maw to bite at Meng Ling's wings.
Mengling let out a thunderous whale roar, and with a sudden flap of its broad wings, it unleashed a roaring wave of power in the air. This attack, like a sudden storm, forced the Rifttail Tiger, which had rushed into the air, back down.
The split-tailed tiger crashed onto the cave wall with a dull thud, but it quickly rose again, its eyes even more ferocious. Clearly, this beast had never faced such a powerful opponent, yet it refused to give up.
Mo Ming stood on one side of the rock, intently watching the battle. Although he knew that Meng Ling currently held an absolute advantage in size and strength, the seemingly endless ferocity of the Rift-tailed Tiger still made him feel a little worried.
The split-tailed tiger roared and charged forward, its entire body resembling a giant arrow.
At that moment, the light behind Mengling suddenly intensified, and a layer of fine spiritual patterns began to spread out from Mengling's body, as if a blue ocean was pouring down from the void, with the sound of waves echoing in the air.
A massive wave of air emanated from Mengling's body, and it began to slowly rotate, its wings surging like the tides.
Just as the Cracked-Tail Tiger got close, Mengling's body shone with spiritual light once more, and its tail fin rose high like the tail of a giant whale before slamming it into the ground.
With a tremendous roar, spiritual energy transformed into visible ripples that spread outwards, like giant waves crashing against rocks, instantly engulfing the Split-Tail Tiger.
The attack was incredibly powerful; the ripples carried the force of the impact, sending the Crack-Tailed Tiger flying and crashing heavily into the rock wall. The Crack-Tailed Tiger struggled to its feet, but it was clearly severely injured; blood flowed from its abdomen and dripped onto the ground.
Mengling didn't give it a chance to get up again. It raised its broad claws, which transformed into a greatsword formed of condensed light, and then slashed down from the air, smashing hard into the chest of the Rifttail Tiger.
This strike was precise and deadly, piercing through the tiger's defenses and pinning it to the ground, where it let out a final scream.
The split-tailed tiger struggled a few times, but finally its eyes glazed over, and its massive body collapsed helplessly to the ground. Mengling slowly retracted its claws, its body trembling slightly. Its large, tar-like eyes turned to Moming, a hint of weary gentleness tinged with victory.
"Well done!" Mo Ming breathed a sigh of relief and quickly ran to Meng Ling's side, gently placing his hand on her body to soothe her. Meng Ling's enormous body began to slowly shrink, returning to its original size, and landed on Mo Ming's shoulder.
Mo Ming looked at Meng Ling, then at the fallen corpse of the Rifttail Tiger, feeling immense pride. He patted Meng Ling's head and smiled slightly: "Our first hunt was a success. This place will be our backup shelter from now on."
The moment the split-tailed tiger fell to the ground, its roar gradually subsided, its massive body cooled down, and the entire battlefield returned to silence.
But Mo Ming's attention wasn't entirely focused on the powerful beast. His gaze fell on the cave behind the split-tailed tiger.
Mo Ming cautiously entered the cave entrance. After walking for a while, he parted a low crevice in the rock and discovered a passage that gradually extended downwards.
The passage was narrow and deep, with a faint airflow emanating from it. This airflow carried a coolness completely different from that of the upper cave, and there was also a faint metallic smell in the air.
"This passage seems to lead to a deeper place. And I can also sense... a strange smell?"
Mo Ming seemed lost in thought. He took out his tools, lit the torch in his hand, and carefully stepped into the crevice. The flickering firelight reflected off the rock walls of the passage. He could see that these rocks were not ordinary stones, but rather strange patterns that appeared to have a metallic sheen.
“Sure enough, something is hidden here.” He said in a low voice. The Dream Spirit perched on his shoulder, chirping softly from time to time, seemingly excited about the new thing that was about to appear.
Mo Ming carefully descended the passage, which gradually widened, but the rock steps became increasingly steep. After walking for about a few minutes, the view suddenly opened up before him.
A sense of awe washed over Mo Ming. He had arrived at a vast underground space, with massive rock walls curving outwards like a dome, the entire space spanning hundreds of meters.
The cave ceiling is filled with glowing crystals, whose soft light illuminates the entire area, making it seem like an underground starry sky hanging from the dome, adorning the land like a dream.
"This...this is an underground world!" Mo Ming was shocked by the sight before him.
The terrain of this underground world is varied and orderly, with a narrow underground river flowing slowly in the center. The river water is pale blue, and several fluorescent creatures can be vaguely seen swimming leisurely in it.
On both sides of the river are flat areas of land, and even some natural high platforms and terraced terrain, as if this were a meticulously crafted hidden world. Everything seemed mysterious and vast.
"This place is big enough to hold hundreds of people. If it were renovated, it would be a veritable underground town," Mo Ming muttered to himself.
At the same time, Mengling leaped off his shoulder and flew towards a rock wall not far away. Mo Ming noticed that there seemed to be something special where it landed. He quickly followed, and when he reached the rock wall, his eyes lit up, and he couldn't help but catch his breath.
Where Mengling had stopped, Mo Ming saw a mineral vein running through the entire rock wall. It was a fluorescent mineral vein that crisscrossed the rock wall, like the remnants of some kind of fossil forest.
These minerals exhibit a rare blue-purple luster, subtly radiating a warm and ancient sense of power.
Mo Ming leaned closer to examine it, then reached out and gently touched one of the exposed ore pieces. The metallic texture conveyed a cool touch, but deep down it carried a faint warmth.
"What kind of mine is this...?"
He took out the parser and quickly came to a conclusion.
