System Of The Undead

Chapter 57: A Reveal

Chapter 57: A Reveal

Clementine caught up to the child and she knew that she couldn’t have this because she might not go out of her way to save him if things go dire.

She grabbed him by the arm and forcefully yanked him, he was self-aware enough to understand the situation.

"Bad woman..." The child muttered and Clementine raised a brow upon hearing this.

What the fuck did he mean by a bad woman?

"BAD WOMAN!" He said with a lot more urgency and this was something that Clementine knew she had to take seriously to ease this child’s worry.

The fact that he opened his mouth to speak told her that this must be important.

"Bad woman? Show me the bad woman," Clementine said but for him to show her, they had to meet the rest of the gang.

Clementine had to convince the child even though she could easily use force to bring the child back to them.

"I will protect you from the bad woman but you need to show me so I can do that. Do you see? I’m in the army, I get rid of bad people," Clementine’s voice was calming and the child nodded in agreement.

She was relieved the moment he did because she didn’t want to have to use force or worse, abandon him.

Sam was keeping a close eye on the boy and Clementine knew he couldn’t become a liability or Sam would be justified in getting rid of him.

She needed to get him to base but she knew how Sam was as he wouldn’t want to take any risks.

Clementine returned within minutes and everyone’s attention shifted to them.

Clementine looked at the boy but he didn’t point at anyone and his frightened look disappeared.

But she noticed one person was missing in the room, she noticed that Bella was missing.

"She’s in the toilet," Sam said out of the blue, he had picked up on the situation the moment Clementine walked in.

"Huh? What is going on?" Jason asked because he noticed that Clementine had taken out her gun as she approached the toilet.

"You little fuck buddy hasn’t been honest with us," Sam said, dusting his hands as he got to his feet.

"BELLA! OPEN UP!" Clementine warned but she got no response from the woman.

"You’re too nice Clementine," Sam said behind her but he felt a hand grab his shoulder.

"What the hell ar-!" Jason was smashed right in the face by Sam’s elbow as he tumbled onto the ground.

"You don’t get a say in this," Sam said, Rachel immediately called Lillian over here because she saw these people as threats at that very moment.

Sam proceeded to kick in the door and just as he expected, Bella was nowhere to be seen.

She had escaped through the window and Sam couldn’t contain his laughter.

He just started cackling, everything was coming together now and he was glad that this was happening before they went further.

"Stop it, Sam," Clementine warned him but Sam didn’t as he glanced over at Jason.

"Was the pussy that good? It was so good that you couldn’t put the pieces together?" Sam mocked Jason but Jason was looking angry.

Sam was blatantly disrespecting him but he also knew he had no chance of beating Sam.

Clementine was the one that explained everything to them and the connection she might have shared with the child.

"Let me explain it so you people can understand it. Bella isn’t who she said she is, you said she had a partner, right? What if it was she and her partner that did that shit to those people?" Sam proposed this as it was far-fetched because there was no evidence to back it up but this was the only way for them to explain why the boy knew her.

"There was something fishy about her story, she didn’t tell us her association with these people. If they only recruited criminals and the scum of the earth, how do you think she entered if she didn’t fit this category?" Sam asked, taking out his gun.

Jason knew that he was right and he wasn’t about to oppose him but killing her surely was too far, no?

"What’re you doing with that pistol?" Jason asked.

"What else? I’m going to kill her, she is a threat..." Sam said bluntly but Clementine had a problem with this course of action because there was still so much they didn’t know.

"Sam, don’t... You can’t be the judge and executioner..." Clementine said.

"Look around you, Clementine... At this very moment, I can be God if I choose to be." Sam joked but now wasn’t the time for such jokes.

Rachel kept quiet because the safety of her sister remained her priority and if Bella was a threat, she was with Sam.

"Sam, I said that’s enough... Bella isn’t a threat," Clementine reaffirmed her stance.

"Bella isn’t stupid, she could return to the camp with information about us. We did ask for the location of her camp and what do you think she would trade for her freedom?" Sam questioned and Clementine looked away before saying.

"Information..." She muttered.

"Wait!" Jason exclaimed, interrupting their conversation but Sam was getting irritated.

Sam was showing his true colours, he was angry that an attempt was made on his life, something that wouldn’t have happened if they left Bella to her devices.

He played along because of this very reason, she had information that they needed but Sam knew from the get-go that she was full of shit.

He was far too smart for such a cheap trick to work but Sam showed he was an excellent actor.

"She used sex to tame you, Jason. That made you need her for something thus making her a part of your routine... Don’t tell me you have fallen in love with her in less than a week?" Sam mocked him and Rachel was curious to see how Jason would respond to this.

"I’m not going to stop you, I want to follow you," Jason said with a stern face.

"Now that’s what I want to hear..." Sam said but before the conversation could go further, a scream echoed in the distance.

This voice, it was no doubt the voice of Bella.
