Chapter 418 - 388: The Special Ring
Chapter 418 - 388: The Special Ring
"Is this the book?"
Aurora Sinclair knelt before an old, simple chest.
Inside the chest were several stone tablets, faintly engraved with some kind of writing.
Quentin Stone looked back, thought for a moment, and shook his head. "Not this one."
The two continued to rummage through the room until Alvin Morgan walked in.
"What are you looking for?"
The moment Aurora Sinclair saw him, she remembered Ditto Miles, the powerful search expert.
"Morgan, bring Ditto Miles over."
Just then, a small suitcase crossed the threshold on its own and slid over.
Quentin Stone asked in surprise, "Who made this?"
"I did," Alvin Morgan replied.
Quentin Stone’s eyes lit up. He looked Alvin up and down, then nodded in approval. "Not bad. You have a valuable skill. You can become my disciple."
He gestured to the books in the room. "Once you join my sect, you may read any of these books as you please. However, in terms of seniority, Dawn Miles will be your Senior Sister."
Hearing this, Aurora Sinclair’s eyes widened. She glanced back and forth between the two men several times, asking in astonishment, "Morgan is going to be my Junior Brother?"
Quentin Stone nodded slightly, looking directly at Alvin Morgan. "What do you say?"
Outside the courtyard gate, The Morgan Mr. s were dying to rush in and accept the offer on their master’s behalf.
’This is the legacy of Sunstone!’
’People in the outside world would kill to get this.’
But their master didn’t accept immediately. Instead, he asked a question: "After joining the sect, can I marry a fellow disciple who is my Senior Sister?"
"..."
Quentin Stone was stunned for a moment. He turned to look at the figure who had already run back into the room and asked, amused, "If you can’t marry her, you won’t join?"
"Yes."
The resolute answer made the tips of Aurora Sinclair’s ears turn bright red inside the room.
Quentin Stone burst out laughing. "The Myriad Machina Sect doesn’t have that many rules, but your Senior Sister isn’t just a member of my sect."
The suggestive remark made the corners of Alvin Morgan’s lips curve up. "No matter. Master Ancestor Kael Miles said the Sect Leader of The Radiant Void Sect can change the sect’s rules..."
But before he could finish, Master Aerion’s hostile voice suddenly sounded from outside the door. "The Sect Leader *can* change the rules, but certain special rules can only take effect when the next Sect Leader takes over."
The smile on Alvin Morgan’s face froze, and his handsome brows furrowed at these words.
Master Aerion walked in with his hands behind his back, in a very good mood. He even greeted Quentin Stone, "Senior Brother, what are you up to?"
"Looking for a book for Rory."
Seeing that he was still wearing his mask, Aurora Sinclair pressed her lips together slightly, walked out of the room, and gave him a respectful bow. "Master."
Master Aerion looked at his eldest disciple with satisfaction, his voice soft and gentle. "My good disciple, what book are you looking for?"
Aurora Sinclair looked at the suitcase. "Ditto Miles, search for books with this pattern."
"Yes, Master."
Ditto Miles suddenly transformed into a small robot. A red light shot out from its mechanical arm and began scanning the pattern Aurora Sinclair had unfolded, before proceeding to scan all the books in the entire room.
Master Aerion and Quentin Stone were both stunned by the sight.
’What is this thing?’
Soon, Ditto Miles’s scan was complete. "Master, I have found a total of five similar patterns."
Quentin Stone, now very curious about the little gadget, was the first to ask, "Where are they?"
"Follow me..."
Ditto Miles’s small wheels slid unimpeded into the room, leading the group to the exact ancient texts. Quentin Stone was utterly fascinated and began circling Ditto Miles to study it.
Aurora Sinclair, holding the ancient books, was about to sit casually on the floor to read when Alvin Morgan scooped her up. He didn’t let her sit until he had brought over a small stool for her.
Watching the two interact, Master Aerion felt a complicated mix of emotions. He had to admit, the kid really doted on his disciple.
"Stop staring. She’ll be his sooner or later," Quentin Stone teased coolly.
Master Aerion retorted stubbornly, "That still depends on whether I agree or not."
Quentin Stone shook his head. "Come on, let’s go get a drink..."
Master Aerion cast another complicated glance at the pair in the room before flicking his sleeves and walking out. "A daughter is never a daughter for life..."
His comment made Aurora Sinclair’s cheeks flush red again inside the room.
Alvin Morgan seized the opportunity to wrap his arm around her and steal a kiss.
"Your master approves."
Master Aerion, who had just stepped out the door, suddenly clenched his fists. He was so agitated he almost turned back, but Quentin Stone grabbed him. "Junior Brother, if you go back now, Dawn Miles will have to wear a mask in front of you from now on..."
Master Aerion’s steps faltered. He raised a hand to touch the mask on his face.
He let out a long, low sigh.

Quentin Stone had a wide variety of ancient books, most of which were related to mechanisms and deduction.
Aurora Sinclair and Alvin Morgan spent half the day flipping through them and finally found a few clues.
One ancient text contained a piece of unofficial history: During the Ancient Times, the Harrow Dynasty once summoned the top Mechanical Masters from across the nation to open a lock, but none succeeded. In the end, the lock was picked by an illiterate locksmith.
