Chapter 360: Mysterious Ruins
Just as everyone had subdued the shadowy figure and breathed a sigh of relief, the system's voice rang in Liu Yu's mind again: "A new mission has been issued: Explore this mysterious ruin and find the lost magical artifact. You have three days to complete it. If you fail to do so, you will be trapped here forever." The voice was like a thunderclap, exploding in Liu Yu's heart.
Upon hearing the task, Liu Yu's heart skipped a beat, and a worried expression immediately appeared on his face. He inwardly groaned, "What am I going to do? I just went through a fierce battle, and now this arduous task comes along. This system really doesn't give people a chance to breathe." His brows furrowed, and his eyes revealed a hint of anxiety and helplessness.
Bai Suzhen noticed Liu Yu's worry and gently took his hand, saying, "Husband, don't worry. We've been through so much together, we'll definitely overcome any danger this time." Her voice was gentle yet firm, and her eyes were full of trust and encouragement, as if with her there, all difficulties could be easily resolved.
Xiaoqing said excitedly, "That's right! Maybe there are some fun treasures in these ruins! Maybe they can even improve my magic power. Then let's see who dares to bully us!" Her eyes sparkled with anticipation and curiosity, as if she could already see countless treasures beckoning to her.
Pigsy grumbled to himself, "All I want is to have something to eat, so I don't go hungry. This damn mission is such a hassle, my stomach is already rumbling." He rubbed his round belly, his face full of dissatisfaction and complaints.
Wearing its signature green shorts, Xiao Tian barked, "What are you afraid of? Follow me, you won't go wrong! My nose is very sensitive, I'm sure we'll find the magic treasure!" It held its head high and confidently led the way, its small body radiating boundless courage.
The group began exploring the ruins. An ancient, stale atmosphere permeated the ruins, as if they had been forgotten by time. Vines climbed the walls, their tendrils like green pythons, winding and twisting. The ground was covered in pebbles and dust, each step kicking up a cloud of dust.
Liu Yu walked cautiously, observing his surroundings as he thought to himself, "This place looks so ancient; it must hold many secrets. I wonder where this lost treasure is hidden. I hope it won't be too difficult to find." His eyes were focused and vigilant, his hand gripping his weapon tightly, ready to deal with any potential dangers.
Bai Suzhen stayed close to him, constantly watching their surroundings, thinking, "No matter what danger we encounter, I will protect my husband. Even at any cost, I will never let him get hurt." Her gaze was gentle yet firm, always fixed on Liu Yu.
Xiaoqing skipped and hopped ahead, looking around curiously, thinking to herself, "Maybe I can find some powerful magic manuals that will improve my skills. Then I can protect everyone with my sister!" Her face was filled with excitement and anticipation, as if this were a thrilling adventure.
Pigsy dragged his heavy steps, complaining incessantly, "This wretched place has nothing at all, I'm exhausted. I'm so unlucky, how did I end up in this godforsaken place with you guys?" His face was covered in sweat, and he was panting heavily, as if every step he took exhausted all his strength.
Xiao Tian sniffed around in the corner, occasionally barking at a rock.
As they walked, they came to a huge room. The room was filled with all sorts of strange statues, some with ferocious faces and bared fangs, as if they were about to devour people; others with bizarre shapes and twisted bodies, making people's hair stand on end.
Upon seeing the statues, Pigsy turned pale with fright, his legs went weak, and he immediately hid behind Liu Yu, stammering, "What, what are these things? They're terrifying. I, Old Pig, don't want to stay here. Let's leave quickly." His body trembled uncontrollably, his eyes tightly closed, unable to look directly at the statues.
Xiaoqing stepped forward, carefully examined the statues, and said disdainfully, "Look at you, so cowardly! What's there to be afraid of? They're just a few statues. Watch me smash them all!" She put her hands on her hips, looking fearless.
Xiao Tian, wearing green shorts, circled the statue, barking, "These statues look really fun, maybe they can even move!" Its voice was clear and loud, full of curiosity and mischief.
Just then, the statues suddenly moved, brandishing their weapons and attacking the crowd. Their movements were stiff yet swift, carrying a fierce aura.
Liu Yu shouted, "Everyone be careful!" His voice was full of tension and vigilance as he quickly raised his weapon, ready to fight.
Bai Suzhen immediately cast an ice spell, her hands waving and her mouth chanting incantations. Instantly, a chilling aura spread out, attempting to freeze the statues. She thought to herself, "I must stop them; I can't let anyone get hurt."
Xiaoqing brandished her sword, the blade flashing through the air as she engaged the statue in fierce combat. Her eyes were resolute, her movements swift, and she shouted, "Come on, you lot, let's see how I deal with you!"
Pigsy mustered his courage, picked up his nine-toothed rake, and began smashing it haphazardly at the statue. As he smashed, he shouted, "I, Old Pig, am not afraid of you! Fall down, all of you!"
Taking advantage of the chaos, Xiao Tian pulled some pebbles from his green underwear and threw them at the statues' eyes. The pebbles hit the statues' eyes accurately, slowing their movements slightly.
Enraged by Xiaotian's actions, the statues chased after him.
As Xiao Tian ran, it shouted, "Come on, come and chase me!" Its figure darted around the room, as agile as a little monkey.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, Liu Yu and his companions launched an even more powerful attack. In an instant, the room was filled with dazzling light, and the sounds of clashing spells echoed continuously. Lights of various colors intertwined, creating a magnificent and breathtaking scene.
After a fierce battle, the group finally subdued the statues. The statues fell to the ground and turned into a pile of rubble.
Everyone was exhausted and collapsed on the ground.
Pigsy, panting heavily, said, "Oh dear, I'm exhausted! This is even more tiring than carrying a load. My arms are almost too sore to lift." He lay on the ground, panting heavily, his clothes soaked with sweat.
Xiaoqing laughed and said, "You're always slacking off. If it weren't for us, you would have been smashed flat by the statue long ago. You coward, you'd better be braver in the future!" Although she was also very tired, she still couldn't help but tease Zhu Bajie.
Xiao Tian ran back wearing green shorts, proudly saying, "Look, I'm the best! I lured them away. If it weren't for me, you wouldn't have been able to defeat them so easily." It wagged its tail, looking very proud.
Just then, a hidden door suddenly appeared in the corner of the room...
