Chapter 40 More Than Friends, Less Than Lovers
Chapter 40 More Than Friends, Less Than Lovers
After seeing Zhou Wenzhe off, Son Seungwan returned to the bedroom. Bae Joo-hyun was looking down at the bed with a blank stare, seemingly lost in thought.
She stepped forward and said with concern, "Unnie, you didn't eat dinner tonight, did you? I'll cook you some ramen."
"How did you know I didn't eat dinner?" Bae Joo-hyun looked up at Son Seung-wan in surprise.
"That's what Wenzhe said."
"Him? How did he know?"
"When you fainted just now, he took your pulse and said that you probably had low blood sugar because you didn't eat dinner."
"He can even treat patients?" Bae Joo-hyun was quite surprised and somewhat doubtful.
"Yes, he's really good. He just took my pulse, and he's right about some of my health problems."
"real?"
"Yes, he also said he'd get me some medicine. I'll ask him to get you some medicine to regulate your body too."
"I don't need it." Bae Joo-hyun looked resistant; she would never use the medicine that man prescribed.
Besides, who knows if it will even work?
Then she added, "Shengwan, he's not a doctor. I think you should be careful with medication."
"I believe him. I'll go cook you noodles." Son Seungwan was still a little unhappy when she heard Bae Joo-hyun say this, but she also understood her older sister's worries.
After saying that, she turned and walked out of the bedroom and into the kitchen.
Bae Joo-hyun raised her hand, looked at her wrist, and fell silent again. She had a complex feeling about Zhou Wenzhe that she couldn't quite explain.
Soon, Son Seungwan finished cooking the ramen. She placed the bowl on a tray, took a pair of chopsticks, put them on the dining table, and then went back to her bedroom.
Seeing that Bae Joo-hyun was still in a daze, she asked with concern, "Unnie, are you still feeling unwell?"
"No." Bae Joo-hyun shook her head, snapping out of her daze.
"The ramen is ready, go and eat."
"Yes, thank you, Shengwan."
"Why are you being so polite with me?"
Son Seungwan stepped forward to help Bae Joo-hyun get out of bed, and then helped her to the living room to sit down.
Bae Joo-hyun looked at the steaming ramen, her stomach growled, and she picked up her chopsticks to eat.
After eating the warm ramen, she felt much better.
"Unnie, when did you buy this pajama set? I've never seen you wear it before."
The situation was so urgent that Son Seungwan didn't have time to properly examine Bae Joo-hyun's outfit. Now, looking at it closely, it is indeed quite sexy, which is completely different from her previous style.
"I ordered this online, and it just arrived today."
"Huh? You can shop online?!" Son Seungwan looked at Bae Joo-hyun in disbelief. Although this older sister was only three years older than her, she was like an old-fashioned person in life. She didn't go online, didn't have any social media accounts, and the only use for her smartphone was to take pictures.
How can I not be shocked to hear that she even knows how to shop online?
"Yeah, it's pretty convenient."
If she were to go to a physical pajama store, Bae Joo-hyun definitely wouldn't buy pajamas of this style.
"Of course it's convenient, what else did you buy?"
"That's all." Bae Joo-hyun just wanted to test whether buying things online was reliable, but she didn't expect the delivered goods to be so satisfactory. Otherwise, she wouldn't have worn them tonight when no one else was around.
"If you want something in the future, let's buy it together, that way we can save some money."
"it is good."
While the two were talking, Bae Joo-hyun finished her entire bowl of ramen.
After watching her finish eating, Son Seungwan picked up the empty bowl to wash it and said, "Unnie, you should go and rest."
"Shengwan, I have something to tell you. Come sleep in my room later."
"Okay, I'll come over after I've finished washing up."
"Um."
. . .
After washing up, Son Seungwan went to Bae Joo-hyun's room and saw that she was already lying in bed, so she went over and lay down next to her.
As soon as she lay down, Bae Joo-hyun moved closer to her and turned to hug one of her arms.
"Unnie, what do you want to tell me?"
Son Seung-wan was used to her actions; when they slept together, she would always hug him, claiming that she was warm.
Are you and Zhou Wenzhe dating?
"Uh..." Son Seungwan quickly thought about it in her mind. Actually, she wasn't sure what the relationship between the two of them was either.
They're supposed to be friends, but they've already kissed.
They're supposed to be boyfriend and girlfriend, but they haven't officially confirmed their relationship.
We can only say that we're more than friends, but not quite lovers.
Moreover, she had a feeling that Zhou Wenzhe seemed to have some concerns about their relationship.
This is a woman's intuition.
"I'll keep it a secret for you." Bae Joo-hyun thought Son Seung-wan was hesitant to tell her because she had something to hide.
"No, that's not what I meant. I'm not sure what kind of relationship we have right now."
"Huh? You two... you've already gone that far, doesn't that count as dating?" Bae Joo-hyun had always believed that Son Seung-wan had already given herself to Joo Moon-cheol.
"Unnie, you found out?" Son Seungwan thought about how she had kissed Zhou Wenzhe when she saw him off earlier. Could it be that her older sister saw it?
Things turned out to be a misunderstanding by sheer coincidence.
"kindness."
"Um..." Having been caught doing something sneaky, Son Seungwan instantly became embarrassed and stammered, unsure of what to say next.
Seeing her like this, Bae Joo-hyun became even more certain that her guess was correct. This younger sister was really foolish, still explaining for that irresponsible man even in this state.
She composed herself, her emotions churning, and quietly asked, "Do you like him?"
"Yes, I like it." Son Seungwan nodded, without a doubt.
"And what about him?"
"I don't know." Son Seungwan was really unsure whether Zhou Wenzhe liked her or not. Judging from his behavior, he seemed to regard her more as a friend.
Thinking back, the reason he kissed me earlier was probably because I took the initiative, making it hard for him to refuse.
Thinking of this, she continued, "I think we're fine as we are now, after all, our jobs don't allow us to date openly."
Bae Joo-hyun really didn't know what to say to her younger sister, who was already acting a bit silly.
Although such things are not uncommon in society nowadays, the woman always seems to suffer more. She's genuinely worried that one day her younger sister will be heartbroken by Zhou Wenzhe.
Should I talk to him?
"By the way, unnie, it's Mooncheol's birthday in a few days. Would you like to go to his birthday party?"
"Okay, which day?" Bae Joo-hyun agreed. If it were before today, she would never have gone to his birthday party.
"Number 18." Son Seungwan turned to look at Bae Joohyun with some surprise. She was just asking as usual, and she really didn't expect this older sister to go, and to agree so readily.
"I see."
"Unnie, are you really going?" Son Seungwan asked again, wondering if she had misheard.
"Yes, he helped me out just now, so I'm going to thank him."
Hearing this explanation, Son Seung-wan finally dispelled his doubts.
"Let's stop talking and go to sleep." Bae Joo-hyun closed her eyes and hugged Son Seung-wan tightly.
"Um."
. . . . . .
