Chapter 11 I Can Read Minds
Chapter 11 I Can Read Minds
A driver recommending buckwheat noodles might be a matter of personal preference.
However, if several taxi drivers recommend soba noodles in a row, then it really shows that soba noodles hold an unshakable national status in the hearts of the island nation's food rankings.
Undeterred, Wu Haiyuan wanted to hear other answers, but communication was not smooth, and the driver didn't understand much English either. In the end, he had no choice but to get off at a noodle shop near Disneyland.
Wu Haiyuan paid the fare first. After getting out of the car, Han Xijun didn't go straight to the noodle shop in front of them, but asked Wu Haiyuan, "There's a mixed food shop on the left, where else should we go?"
Wu Haiyuan shook his head and said, "The taxi driver recommended buckwheat noodles, so let's have that."
Despite his words, Wu Haiyuan couldn't resist taking a glance at the comprehensive restaurant with the Meizhangyuan sign.
I imagine that restaurant's menu must be quite extensive, offering a wide variety of meat dishes and even stir-fries.
Ring ring.
The sound of wind chimes pulled Wu Haiyuan back to the buckwheat noodle shop.
The restaurant is not large, with a traditional island-style layout. The open kitchen is surrounded by a circle of tables, and diners sit on stools around the table to order and eat.
No one was chatting or talking; apart from the occasional sound of people eating noodles, the overall atmosphere was a little oppressive.
As Wu Haiyuan followed into the store, he cleared his throat after sensing the atmosphere and mentally reminded himself that from this moment on, he must speak softly.
It seems Han Hee-joon really enjoys this kind of atmosphere.
Han Xijun found a seat, pulled out a chair, and waited for Wu Haiyuan.
Wu Haiyuan lowered his voice and said "Thank you."
Han Xijun paused for a moment, then said, "There's no need to be so cautious."
"what?"
Han Xijun sat down next to Wu Haiyuan and raised his hand, saying, "Let's order."
There were only two people in the kitchen, who looked like a couple.
Upon hearing the request for food, the woman looked up, confirmed that it was Han Xijun who needed service, and moved to Han Xijun's side.
With a smile, he politely asked, "Would you like to order?"
Han Xijun ordered two bowls of the signature buckwheat noodles.
The woman nodded as she confirmed the order, then returned to her previous spot to begin preparing the buckwheat noodles.
Wu Haiyuan took a selfie stick and took pictures all around.
Finally, I carefully leaned the selfie stick against the table, checked it for a few seconds to make sure it wasn't tilted, and then took my phone out of my bag.
She asked Han Xijun in a very low voice, "Is it okay to take pictures here?"
Han Xijun shrugged and said, "Video recording is fine too."
"Sure, you can."
"The boss didn't stop you just now."
Looking back, the lady who came over to take orders did see Wu Haiyuan holding a selfie stick but did not stop him.
The owner might not use such equipment, but anyone who runs a noodle shop near Disneyland must have seen other customers bringing selfie sticks into the shop.

After taking a few photos of the store's environment, Wu Haiyuan put down his phone and muttered, "I wonder if the boss will agree to take pictures of the kitchen."
Han Xijun took out a small booklet from somewhere and started flipping through it.
Hearing Wu Haiyuan's mutterings, he couldn't help but chuckle.
Wu Haiyuan understands basic respect. Filming the interior of a restaurant is not the same as filming the kitchen. After all, the kitchen is related to a restaurant's core secrets, and it is right to ask for permission before filming.
Han Xijun was just a little curious.
Shouldn't recording program videos with a camera lens be more important than taking photos?
Although it's supposed to be play, it's still in a working state.
The program that Wu Haiyuan mentioned on the plane must be quite important.
The buckwheat noodles have arrived.
"Arigato"
The woman nodded with a smile and offered a few more words of advice.
Wu Haiyuan wanted to ask, but couldn't find the words.
Han Xijun exchanged a few words with the lady, who nodded repeatedly and gestured for him to proceed.
The boss said it was okay to take pictures.
"what?"
"Didn't you want to film the kitchen?"
Wu Haiyuan asked in shock, "How did Han Xijun know?"
Han Xijun turned to Wu Haiyuan and joked, "I can read minds."
No one else would believe such lies told to a child.
Wu Haiyuan, however, believed him, his eyes widening as he exclaimed, "You've even studied psychology?"
Han Xijun didn't know how to respond for a moment.
There really are such innocent people in this world.
They automatically justify casual jokes made by others.
It's simple to think about things; being able to read minds is the same as having studied psychology, right?
Wu Haiyuan blinked, his face full of longing for the answer.
Han Xijun shrugged and said, "I've read a few books."
Wu Haiyuan immediately exclaimed, "Truly a genius!"
Unable to continue the conversation, Han Xijun changed the subject: "Let's take the pictures, then we'll eat noodles."
Wu Haiyuan got up with his phone, took a few photos from different angles, and then sat down again.
Not finished yet.
Then they started taking pictures of the buckwheat noodles.
A very exquisite wooden tray.
On the left is a sauce bowl, and on the right is cooked buckwheat noodles.
When eating, first pick up a buckwheat noodle, dip it in the sauce bowl, let it soak in the broth and sauce, and then put it in your mouth.
The shoot of buckwheat noodles wasn't over yet.
The phone camera was switched to selfie mode.
The peace sign pose is instantly in place.
Click! And then, a new pose.
Pointing at the tray of buckwheat noodles and taking a picture.
Pouting, palms facing up, the angle makes it look like you're patting a buckwheat noodle.
Use chopsticks to pick up the buckwheat noodles.
Dip in the sauce and pat dry.
The camera zoomed out, eventually capturing the entire interior of the store that could be seen in the shot, including Han Hee-joon sitting next to them eating noodles.

Finally, the photo shoot is complete.
Wu Haiyuan's first action was to check the quality of the photos.
In contrast, in the last photo, Wu Haiyuan looked at the picture and then turned to look at Han Xijun beside him.
When Wu Haiyuan first saw the photo clearly, he was still somewhat incredulous.
In the photo, the tray of buckwheat noodles belonging to Han Hee-joon has become clean.
In other words, Han Hee-joon had already finished a serving of buckwheat noodles while she was taking photos.
I confirmed with my own eyes that Han Xijun had really finished eating.
Wiping her mouth with a tissue, she looked at Wu Haiyuan and said, "It tastes pretty good."
Wu Haiyuan still couldn't believe it and asked, "Has Han Xijun finished eating?"
Han Xijun said, "I eat faster than most people."
"Wow, I only took a few photos, so now it's..."
Han Xijun smiled and waved the booklet, saying, "I'll take a look at this."
"What is this?"
Disney brochures
As Han Xijun opened the package, he said, "You try the buckwheat noodles, and I'll look into Disney."
Wu Haiyuan didn't want to waste time because of himself.
Although I want to be more ladylike.
But that "invisible" sense of oppression is really intoxicating.
Han Xijun finished his meal in a few bites, not wanting to fall too far behind.
The camera probably won't capture me looking down and eating noodles with gusto, but I'm going all out.
"Hoo hoo~"
The habit of slurping noodles.
It looks quite out of place in a relatively quiet environment.
Wu Haiyuan, perking up, glanced at the scene with a hint of nervousness.
No one paid any attention to her, so she continued eating her noodles, but tried her best to control the noise she made.
Han Xijun's voice reached Wu Haiyuan's ears: "Eat slowly, no rush."
Wu Haiyuan swallowed a mouthful of noodles and said, "I'm eating slowly."
Han Xijun said, "Anyway, half a day isn't enough time to play."
"What?"
Han Xijun put down the booklet and said, "Half a day is definitely not enough for Disney. We need to choose one of the two: Disneyland or DisneySea. We might only have enough time at the World Bazaar..."
Wu Haiyuan didn't actually hear what Han Xijun said next.
She heard us; it was Han Xijun who referred to us. Previously, Han Xijun always addressed Wu Haiyuan as "Xi" in their conversations…
