Chapter 14 Are you teaching me how to do things?
Chapter 14 Are you teaching me how to do things?
The succubus collapsed to the ground, breathing heavily, her heart-shaped pupils already dilated. After a while, she spoke in an almost dreamlike tone.
"Actually, the kidnapping of the princess was an accident."
Xia Nan crossed her arms noncommittally and nodded to signal her to continue.
"My original plan was simply to control these goblins to do some raiding and looting for me."
"As you know, goblins are easy to control with a little charm magic."
The succubus paused slightly, as if considering her next words.
"My original intention was to make enough money and then leave this godforsaken place. But who would have thought that the princess would personally lead a team to wipe out the goblins? I just... seized the opportunity, kidnapped the princess, and wanted to extort some money from the royal family."
Upon hearing this, Xia Nan rubbed the back of his head as if he had just realized something.
Why didn't I think of that? If I wanted to make money, I could kidnap these nobles!
Of course, this idea only existed for a moment before being suppressed.
He now at least has a Paladin rank, but he can't do this kind of work right now; he has to take it step by step.
But then again, succubi are inherently cunning, would they give themselves away so easily?
"I don't think your motives are that pure."
The succubus slightly raised her head, her eyes revealing a serious expression devoid of any provocation.
"I swear in the name of Mecanshute that everything I say today is true."
Xia Nan blinked.
"who is she?"
"She is the most revered being in our tribe. I swear in her name that if I have uttered any falsehood, I will never again step into the abyss of desire."
Xia Nan noticed that when the succubus said those words, a hint of awe and fear flashed in her previously unfocused pupils.
It seems she was probably not lying about her motives.
Xia Nan stood up, dusted off his pants, and prepared to leave.
"Wait!" the succubus cried out desperately, "Please...satisfy me just once...just once!"
"My mind... is filled with nothing but images of you spinning around!" The succubus's body writhed futilely beneath her chains. "I can't take it anymore... please!"
Xia Nan turned around and looked at the wet patch on the floor. It was obvious what this guy had been through.
But Xia Nan wasn't going to satisfy her. He simply took two steps closer, bent down, and hooked the succubus's nose with his knuckles.
"have a good rest."
This provocative action stunned the succubus, causing her to pause for a moment.
Just as Xia Nan turned to leave, the entire interrogation room was filled with deafening screams.
The voice contained anger, astonishment, frustration, and resentment.
Interestingly, after Xia Nan opened the door, the people waiting in the corridor fell silent upon hearing the shout, exchanging bewildered glances.
Firstly, they were curious about what Xia Nan had done to the succubus, and secondly, they couldn't believe that this person had just walked out so naturally.
Xia Nan simply patted his sleeves and walked back into the crowd with a calm expression.
To be honest, Xia Nan was inside for quite a while, a full half hour.
Just twenty minutes earlier, Sylvie had even secretly instructed her servants that if Xia Nan didn't come out within five minutes, they should rush in, "physically castrate" him, and then send him to the capital as a servant.
In this way, Sylvie can see this interesting person every day.
But the current situation is indeed somewhat unexpected.
"My God!" A paladin looked into the interrogation room and asked in an almost exaggerated tone, "What...what did you do to that succubus?"
Xia Nan replied with a rather confident tone: "I just discussed art and philosophy with her, and incidentally purified her soul that had been polluted by desire."
He paused, then added in a tone of someone with experience, "My advice is, you'd better not go in now. The artistic atmosphere inside is too strong; you might not be able to get out."
Upon hearing this, several male interrogators around Xia Nan subconsciously took a half step back, their eyes filled with awe and curiosity as they looked at him.
Although it is unknown whether Xia Nan saved the princess, his outstanding performance when he joined the company, coupled with his actions today, are remarkable.
They all believed that Xia Nan would become a household name in the future.
The idea of a few small groups wanting to win over Xia Nan has quietly taken root in their minds.
Only Lisa, standing not far away, twitched her long, white, fluffy ears slightly, as if she understood the meaning of those words.
He then quickly pulled out a small notebook from inside his leather armor and began writing furiously with a quill pen, his mind already conjuring up the almost insane scene.
"Xia Nan used ineffable artistic means to subdue the proud succubus..."
"What did you find out?" Sylvia walked up to Xia Nan, her deep blue eyes filled with both scrutiny and a hint of expectation.
"There are so many people here, are you sure you want me to say it here?" Xia Nan asked back.
Upon hearing this, Sylvie frowned almost imperceptibly and turned to glance around.
Although these paladins kept to their duties and dared not speak recklessly, one could still faintly sense their inquisitiveness in their expressions.
"Of course not." Sylvia raised her chin, her tone regaining its usual aloofness. "I need to speak with you alone."
However, people's joys and sorrows are not shared.
Linus, who was standing there stunned, looked utterly frustrated.
He originally wanted to see Xia Nan fail so that he could be punished by Sylvie and satisfy his resentment at being looked down upon in the forest last time.
Now, things have taken a turn for the better. Not only did Xia Nan not fail, but he also gets to spend time alone with the princess.
Linus felt worse than if a goblin had sat on his face and defecated on him.
However, this frustration was short-lived.
Linus realized that this was the perfect opportunity to provoke Sylvie and trap her.
Using the pretext that Xia Nan was an outsider, they forced the princess to go out for a private meeting.
Linus knew Sylvie's personality very well.
The more you restrict her, the more she wants to do it, her main characteristic being rebellion.
If the princess falls for the trap, we can use the newly arrived "secret weapon" to deal with her.
Thinking of this, Linus took a few steps forward and stood in front of Xia Nan.
"Please forgive my intrusion, Your Highness Sylvie," Linus said, looking at Xia Nan with an unfriendly gaze. "I think this is too risky."
"This guy is just an apprentice, yet he can easily handle a succubus. Don't you find that strange?"
"I now strongly suspect that he made some kind of shady deal with the succubus."
"Leaving you alone with him is absolutely playing with your life."
In Xia Nan's view, Linus's words were meant to both demonstrate his loyalty to the princess and simultaneously belittle himself.
Before Xia Nan could retort, Sylvie's scolding tone rang out first.
"Linus, your foolish worries are an insult to me!"
Sylvie crossed her arms, turned around, and glared at Linus with a cold look.
"Are you questioning my magic, claiming I can't even handle an intern?"
"Or are you saying you now wield so much power that you can tell me what to do?"
Linus lowered his head, his tone quite humble, and said:
"I'm sorry, Your Highness, I only meant to offer a friendly reminder."
"Furthermore, Xia Nan is just a commoner, and according to the rules, he is not qualified to enter the imperial city."
"If His Majesty the Emperor finds out that you brought Xia Nan in, he will probably punish you."
"Did I say I wanted to go back to the capital?" Sylvia asked coldly.
She didn't realize that this was a personality trap set by Linus.
Instead, they believed that Linus was targeting Xia Nan, even resorting to royal protocol.
After all, Sylvie could tell from their very first meeting.
"Let's go, Mr. Xia Nan, let's go to a quiet place."
After Sylvie left, Linus finally looked up.
At this time, the only quiet places Sylvie mentioned were the restaurants outside the city.
After all, Linus had done his homework thoroughly in order to assassinate this proud princess.
