Chapter 640: A Proper Rematch At Last
Chapter 640: A Proper Rematch At Last
The next day, Rovak walked into the training field while rolling his shoulders, still sore from Rachel’s brutal training the day before.
But even so, he grinned because this soreness was the result of his improvement.
His muscles were tighter, his movements were smoother, and the dark-red aura around his body flowed with far better control than before.
Rovak looked around the training field, then frowned slightly. "Where are Garion and Rachel?"
Not far away, Dahlia was sitting on top of a broken boulder, lazily swinging one leg while sharpening her body with storm energy.
She glanced at him and shrugged. "Don’t know. Haven’t seen them since morning."
Rovak blinked. "I see. You don’t know either, huh? Then where the hell are they?"
Dahlia snorted and raised her shoulders. "You don’t need to think too much about it. Master is always like this. He disappears, comes back stronger, causes trouble, then acts like everything is normal. That’s just what he does."
Rovak opened his mouth, but then closed it again and nodded seriously. "Yeah. That makes sense."
Dahlia jumped down from the boulder and landed lightly on the ground. "So who cares about them right now?"
Rovak raised an eyebrow. "Huh?"
Dahlia’s silver-gray hair fluttered as black-blue lightning slowly wrapped around her arms.
Then she grinned widely. "Let’s fight again."
Rovak’s eyes immediately brightened.
Dahlia cracked her neck. "I want to see how strong you are after Rachel’s training."
Rovak’s grin widened until his sharp teeth showed. "Good. Same here."
He rolled his shoulders again, and dark-red aura exploded around his body. "I’ve been trained brutally by Rachel for days. I also want to see how strong I am now."
Dahlia laughed. "Then don’t disappoint me, big idiot."
Rovak laughed loudly. "Hahaha! Careful, little dragon. This big idiot has improved."
The storm above the training field rumbled.
Both of them stepped forward at the same time.
But just before they attacked, a small voice suddenly rang out. "Stop."
Dahlia and Rovak both paused.
A tiny pink-haired girl walked out from the side of the field with both hands behind her back.
Giselle’s bright rose-pink eyes looked at the two fighters like a little queen inspecting her arena.
Dahlia crossed her arms. "What are you doing here?"
Giselle lifted her chin proudly. "Since Father and Mother are not here, someone important must supervise."
Rovak looked at Dahlia.
Dahlia looked at Rovak.
Then both of them looked back at Giselle.
Giselle raised one small hand. "Okay then. I’ll be the referee."
Rovak’s mouth twitched. "You?"
Giselle narrowed her eyes. "Do you have a problem, customer bug?"
Rovak immediately straightened. "No problem."
Dahlia laughed. "Smart answer."
Giselle nodded with satisfaction, then pointed at the center of the field. "Both fighters, stand there."
Dahlia grinned and walked forward.
Rovak also stepped into position, his aura burning hotter.
Giselle climbed onto a nearby stone platform, sat down like a tiny judge, and waved her small hand. "Show me a good show."
The ground between them cracked from the pressure.
Giselle’s eyes sparkled. "Begin."
BOOOOOOM!
---
Rovak charged first as he shot his body forward like a cannonball, but compared to before, his movement was clearly different.
His feet no longer stomped randomly. His steps were heavier, cleaner, and more stable. Each push from the ground flowed through his legs, waist, shoulders, and fist in one smooth line.
Dahlia’s eyes sharpened. "Oh?"
Rovak punched.
BANG!
Dahlia raised one arm and blocked it directly, but she still slid back half a step.
Her grin widened. "You really did improve."
Rovak laughed upon hearing that. "Hahaha! Of course! After that brutal training, how could I not improve?"
He then twisted his waist and followed with another punch toward Dahlia’s head.
Seeing it coming, Dahlia directly ducked under it, stepped inside his guard, and drove her elbow toward his ribs.
Rovak’s eyes widened slightly, but he was not like before. This time, he reacted faster.
He tightened his core, shifted his left foot back, and absorbed the blow with his side instead of taking it directly.
THUD!
His body still shook, but he did not lose balance.
Dahlia laughed. "Not bad, big idiot."
Rovak grinned. "Rachel beat balance into my bones."
He grabbed Dahlia’s shoulder, trying to use his size and strength to crush her movement.
Dahlia slipped sideways because her footwork was lighter and sharper than Rovak’s.
Every step looked wild, but there was a strange rhythm hidden inside it, like a dragon moving through a storm.
She circled him, tapping his shoulder, ribs, back, and thigh with quick strikes.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Rovak gritted his teeth, then suddenly lowered his stance.
All his aura stayed suppressed, but his muscles swelled with pure physical force.
Dahlia noticed immediately. "Oh, you’re thinking now?"
Rovak’s grin became savage. "A little."
He did not chase her blindly anymore. Instead, he waited for the right moment.
Dahlia grinned and nodded, directly stepping into his range again.
And in the next moment, Rovak stomped down.
BOOM!
The ground shook, disrupting Dahlia’s step for a split second.
Rovak used that tiny opening to swing his arm like a hammer.
Dahlia quickly crossed both arms to block.
BANG!
The force sent her sliding across the field.
Giselle’s eyes sparkled from her stone platform. "Customer bug scored one point."
Dahlia looked at Giselle. "That counted?"
Giselle nodded seriously. "A hit is a hit."
Rovak laughed loudly. "Hahaha! Did you hear that, little dragon?"
Dahlia slowly lowered her arms, and her grin turned dangerous. "Good."
The next second, she vanished.
Rovak’s smile froze. "Huh?"
Dahlia appeared beside him and kicked his knee. It was not hard enough to break it, but it was perfectly aimed to destroy his stance.
Rovak’s leg buckled, and before he could recover, Dahlia twisted, grabbed his wrist, stepped behind him, and used his own weight against him.
BANG!
Rovak slammed into the ground face-first.
Giselle raised one small hand. "Big Sister Dahlia gets one point."
Dahlia smirked. "Fair."
Rovak pushed himself up with dirt on his face, but his grin was even wider. "Again."
Dahlia cracked her knuckles. "Again."
They clashed once more.
This time, the fight became cleaner.
Rovak tested his improved body control, learning how to stop wasting power.
Dahlia tested his reactions, attacking from blind spots and forcing him to adjust his footwork, guard, breathing, and timing.
There were no flashy techniques, but every punch, kick, block, step, and throw carried brutal pressure.
It was not a battle to decide victory.
It was a spar to check their newly improved bodies.
