Chapter 80: At the entrance, inside the car.
Chapter 80: At the entrance, inside the car.
As Ling Yi looked at the message, he felt as if the air was somewhat stuffy, making it difficult for him to breathe, and a sense of irritation welled up in his heart for no reason.
Looking at the ward he had cleaned, I suddenly felt a strong sense of unease.
Ling Yi stood up, ignoring the clothes and belongings he had placed aside, turned around and left the room. He sat in his hovercar, opened the window, and quietly waited for Qi Min to come out.
After explaining the situation to Liu Jin and confirming that he understood and let it go, Qi Min left the recovery room with a relaxed expression. When he returned to the ward, he only saw the neatly packed clothes and supplies, but Ling Yi was nowhere to be seen.
"I'm back, where are you?"
Qi Min raised his hand and sent a message.
"At the door, inside the car."
Ling Yi replied quickly, but Qi Min raised an eyebrow in confusion as he looked at his concise reply.
Ling Yi's previous answers to him, though not enthusiastic or lively, were always calm and polite. This was the first time he had given such a concise yet emotional response.
Qi Min turned his head to look at the clothes that had been packed up but not taken away by Ling Yi. An uncertain guess popped into his mind. He licked his slightly itchy teeth, his eyes flickered, and he sent another message with a light swipe of his finger.
"You haven't taken your things yet, why are you in the car? Didn't I tell you to wait for me?"
After sending the message, Qi Min looked at the quiet personal terminal, and a slight smile began to appear on his lips.
Then, with a cheerful expression, she picked up the things next to her and walked briskly out of the ward. As soon as she left the ward, Ling Yi sent a reply.
Qi Min stopped and raised his hand to check, his smile widening and his eyes filled with joy.
Several medical staff passing by were stunned; it was the first time they had ever seen a male insect with such a gentle smile.
"Something came up and I forgot."
Ling Yi's reply was as brief as before, but based on the time of his pause, Qi Min was completely certain of his guess.
Qi Min smiled broadly and walked briskly toward the hospital entrance, completely ignoring the female medical staff watching him.
After replying to the message, Ling Yi closed his eyes to calm his inexplicably agitated emotions. Not long after, he suddenly felt a breath touch his cheek.
Ling Yi was startled and suddenly opened his eyes. He frowned and turned his head to look, only to find that Qi Min was looking at him with a smile.
"Heroic ruler"
Ling Yi relaxed his brows, his expression returning to calm.
"Um"
Qi Min didn't care about his calm expression. He responded with a sound, put his things in the back seat, then went around to the passenger seat and sat down, tilting his head back as if he was about to close his eyes and rest.
Seeing his expression, Ling Yi didn't say anything and simply started the car in silence.
Soon, the hovercar came to a smooth stop in the garage, which had been empty for several days.
Qi Min opened his eyes, still saying nothing, but with a slight smile on his face, looking like he was in a good mood, and went upstairs with his things.
Ling Yi watched Qi Min's retreating figure as he returned to his room, his eyes dark and unreadable. He felt that the empty first floor, like that ward, made it hard for him to breathe.
He lowered his eyes and remained silent for a while before going upstairs. However, instead of returning to the master bedroom, he went to the office room that Qi Min had prepared for him. He leaned back in his chair, looking at the ceiling as if he was thinking about something.
Time passed second by second, and silence gradually spread in the quiet room.
After a long while, Ling Yi withdrew his gaze from the ceiling and glanced at the door panel that had remained silent.
He raised his hand to turn on the personal terminal, sent out a few messages, and then got up and left the quiet room.
Just as she was about to go downstairs, Qi Min, who came out of the master bedroom, called her back.
"Ling Yi, I've ordered lunch. Please remember to pack it up and set it out later, then come and call me."
As Qi Min spoke, he walked straight toward the game room, slowly passing by Ling Yi, glancing at Ling Yi's expression.
Ling Yi simply nodded calmly with his eyes downcast, said nothing more, and turned to leave, unaware that Qi Min's brows furrowed slightly because of his calm demeanor.
Qi Min watched the man calmly descend the stairs, the smile in his eyes long gone. He deliberately didn't offer any explanation, just to see if Ling Yi would ask him on his own initiative.
But seeing Ling Yi's calm expression, Qi Min realized that he probably wouldn't ask him directly. He sighed softly, feeling a little disappointed.
Ling Yi has always maintained a passive attitude, as if whatever he does will be accepted by the other party.
Qi Min was deliberately trying to provoke Ling Yi's emotional reaction, wanting to see if he cared about his feelings.
When Ling Yi was in the hospital, her worry, anger, or annoyance made Qi Min feel that she held a place in his heart.
Under his persistent questioning, Ling Yi did admit it, so Qi Min wanted to use this misunderstanding to see Ling Yi's reaction.
But this person was too calm and composed. Despite being angry because of the misunderstanding, he remained calm the whole way and didn't ask any questions.
Qi Min had no choice but to follow him downstairs, watching curiously as he readjusted the housekeeping robot to clean the dust that had accumulated on the first floor over the past two days.
After Ling Yi finished adjusting the robot, he turned around and saw Qi Min looking at him with curiosity. He couldn't help but explain to him.
"This robot doesn't have a scheduled cleaning function set up. I've checked it. Is there anything you need, Master?"
Ling Yi looked at Qi Min, who had finished staring at the robot and then started staring at him, and asked.
"Yes, you..."
"Ding dong!"
The lunch order interrupted Qi Min's attempt to ask for an explanation.
"Please wait a moment, my lord, I'll go get lunch."
After Ling Yi finished speaking, he ignored Qi Min, who looked like he wanted to say something but couldn't, and went to get his lunch after bypassing the powerful leader who was blocking his way.
Qi Min could only bite his lip and return to the restaurant to wait for Ling Yi to come back. But to his surprise, Ling Yi, who had taken back his lunch, did not give him a chance to speak, saying that he suddenly had something to take care of and would not be able to keep Qi Min company.
"But you haven't eaten yet. Is it urgent?"
Qi Min called out to Ling Yi, who was about to leave, frowning and somewhat disbelieving Ling Yi's explanation.
"It's a bit urgent, so I'll just eat out. After you've finished eating, please rest for a bit. I'll try to come back as soon as possible."
After Ling Yi finished speaking, he left without waiting for Qi Min's response.
Qi Min watched his retreating figure as he quickly left, as if he really had something urgent to deal with. Although she had some doubts, she didn't want to chase after him to find out.
Looking at the food on the table, even though I had lost my appetite, I forced myself to eat some in order not to waste it.
After leaving the house, Ling Yi drove straight back to the military headquarters and, under Chen Xuan's somewhat surprised gaze, began to process the documents on his desk.
"Why did you suddenly come over, Commander? Didn't you just send me a message?"
