Chapter 432 Domineering and Tender
Chapter 432 Domineering and Tender
Xiao Suye took Shen Funian directly back to the side room.
Before she could even process what was happening, Xiao Suye kissed her.
"Mmm... Xiao..."
Shen Funian couldn't utter a complete sentence, almost unable to breathe from his kiss, and patted his back.
Xiao Suye then released her, his gaze intense as he asked, "Niannian, are you really willing?"
He originally thought that Shen Funian probably didn't want other children to take away her love for Yao'er, and he didn't want to force it, so having Yao'er was enough.
It didn't matter whether he and Niannian had children, so he kept drinking contraceptive soup.
But since she was willing, he was naturally happy.
"You're really sick," Shen Funian said irritably. "If you ask again, get lost."
She continued to retort, "Besides, what are you so happy about? You might not be able to have children. I've never drunk any contraceptive soup and I still haven't gotten pregnant. There must be something wrong with your body."
“Yes, yes, I have a question,” Xiao Suye said, holding her hand. “I will definitely work harder in the future.”
Shen Funian looked at him as if he were an idiot. He was supposed to be a royal physician, yet he couldn't even understand such a simple principle, let alone succeed through hard work.
She sighed, feeling a pang of pity, and patted his shoulder.
"Then keep up the good work."
Xiao Suye picked her up in his arms and said, "Let's start trying now, let's have a daughter too."
The two were deeply engrossed in their encounter, while the other room remained unusually quiet.
Wen Jiayue carried Zhaozhao inside; Shen Fuhan was still asleep.
She carried Zhao Zhao to the bed and put her down, then shushed her, saying, "Daddy is sleeping, Zhao Zhao, keep your voice down."
Zhao Zhao nodded obediently and lay down on the pillow, staring at her father.
Seeing that she didn't speak, Wen Jiayue felt relieved. Unexpectedly, in the time it took to turn around, she heard Shen Fuhan make a "hmm" sound.
She quickly turned her head and saw Zhao Zhao smilingly pulling Shen Fuhan's ear.
Seeing her mother looking at her, a sly glint flashed in Zhao Zhao's eyes. Then, she innocently pointed to her mouth and waved her hand, indicating that she hadn't said anything.
Wen Jiayue found it both amusing and exasperating: "Zhaozhao, are you pretending not to understand?"
Zhao Zhao giggled, then quickly covered her mouth and buried her face in the blanket.
"What's wrong?" Shen Fuhan pinched the bridge of his nose. "How long have I been asleep? What's Zhaozhao doing here?"
“If Zhaozhao hadn’t disturbed you, you might have slept for another hour or two,” Wen Jiayue asked, sitting on the edge of the bed. “Are you going to sleep or not?”
Shen Fuhan stretched out his arm and pulled her down, pressing her against him.
"Stay with me."
"Zhao Zhao is still here!" Wen Jiayue hurriedly got up.
Just then, Zhao Zhao peeked out and curiously watched her parents' actions.
Wen Jiayue quickly tried to distract her: "Is Zhao Zhao sleepy too? Why don't you lie down with your mother for a while?"
Zhao Zhao patted the spot next to her, indicating that her mother should lie down there.
Wen Jiayue smiled and agreed.
Shen Fuhan, who had been lying flat, turned over and held the mother and daughter in his arms.
Wen Jiayue remembered something: "By the way, husband, why didn't Ruyi come along?"
“I had her stay at the Marquis’s residence to impersonate you,” Shen Fuhan replied with his eyes closed. “Otherwise, if you disappeared without a trace, people would gossip.”
Before leaving the capital, he made many arrangements, but the most important thing was not the eldest princess, but the disappearance of Wen Jiayue.
Ruyi originally wanted to come along, but he refused, fearing that if Wen Jiayue's disappearance were exposed, it would be a greater loss than gain.
So he had Ruyi impersonate Wen Jiayue and pretend to be bedridden.
Ruyi naturally agreed and began practicing a few days in advance.
After all, they were master and servant who grew up together since childhood. With the excuse of having a hoarse voice, and by deliberately imitating her tone, he could manage to imitate her voice somewhat and get away with it.
Wen Jiayue was taken aback: "It's been so long, has no one in Chang'an City known about this?"
She never dared to ask these questions, afraid that she would overthink them.
Women have it so tough. No matter how well they do after getting married, there will always be someone to find fault with them, let alone when she simply disappeared for a month.
Perhaps if she returned to the Marquis's mansion, before she could even contemplate suicide, the scorn and gossip of the people of Chang'an would drown her.
But she and Shen Fuhan were in love, and the people she cared about wouldn't think too much about it. Besides, she had finally been reborn, and she had to live well for herself. The innocent will clear themselves.
She kept telling herself that she should learn from Shen Funian's good attitude. At worst, she could be like her and not leave the manor for several years. No matter what others said, she would not listen and would just live her own life.
But Shen Fuhan told her that none of her worries would come true, because he had already taken care of everything for her.
Tears welled up in Wen Jiayue's eyes. She didn't want to cry, but she couldn't help but choke out a sob.
Shen Fuhan opened her eyes and realized that she was about to cry.
Zhao Zhao frowned, placed her little hand over her mother's eyes, and pouted, saying, "Mother, don't cry... Waaah."
Wen Jiayue burst into laughter through her tears: "Zhaozhao, why are you crying?"
Zhao Zhao hugged her tightly and rubbed against her, murmuring, "Mother, don't cry."
"Don't cry, Mother isn't sad," Wen Jiayue patted her daughter's head, "but rather touched."
She looked at Shen Fuhan and said softly, "Thank you, my husband."
“It’s what I should do,” Shen Fuhan said gently. “No one can hurt you.”
Wen Jiayue responded softly, and seeing that Zhao Zhao was still nestled in her arms, she leaned over and kissed Shen Fuhan's face.
Shen Fuhan chuckled: "Aren't you afraid Zhaozhao will find out this time?"
"Don't worry, we love each other, and Zhaozhao will be even better."
Upon hearing this, Shen Fuhan raised his eyebrows slightly and deliberately moved closer to her.
Wen Jiayue immediately pushed him away.
Shen Fuhan sighed: "Why is it that only officials are allowed to set fires, while ordinary people are forbidden to light lamps?"
Wen Jiayue glared at him and said, "No, you're not allowed."
After a day of rest, the group prepared to return to Beijing the following day at noon.
Wen Jiayue specially bought a coffin for Pei Shijing and had the guards take it to Yangzhou to find a beautiful place to bury him.
The carriage carrying the coffin slowly drove away, and Wen Jiayue watched it go for a long time, with scenes of Pei Shijing flashing before her eyes.
She murmured, "In my next life, I won't be so foolish again."
Shen Fuhan gripped her hand tightly: "Let's go."
Wen Jiayue nodded and got into the carriage.
Swaying slightly, Zhao Zhao yawned and fell asleep in Shen Fuhan's arms.
Wen Jiayue rested her head on Shen Fuhan's shoulder and asked softly, "How many days will it take to get back to Chang'an?"
"At least half a month."
Shen Fuhan didn't plan to leave too quickly. Zhaozhao was young, and she had already suffered on the way here. If he rushed back, he was worried that she would get sick.
Wen Jiayue counted the days: "There are only twelve days left until the New Year. Can't we really spend it in the mansion?"
“What’s so great about the manor? I don’t want to make things difficult for you, Grandmother,” Shen Fuhan said. “We’ll find an excuse to have Fourth Brother and Yao’er come to us, and we can all live together.”
Wen Jiayue smiled and said, "That's a good idea, but you forgot one person, Miss Xie. She'll be your fourth sister-in-law in the future."
Shen Fuhan coughed lightly: "I don't need to mention it, Fourth Brother will take her with him."
"You clearly forgot, don't try to fool me... um!"
Wen Jiayue could only be forced into Shen Fuhan's kisses, which were sometimes tender and sometimes domineering, and she couldn't say a word.
