011. The Twisted Little Eve
011. The Twisted Little Eve
"Go! Don't worry about me!" Eve's voice was filled with screams and anger as she tried to make Lorenz more determined to leave.
"Listen to me, Eve, calm down!" But Lorenz still tried his best to soothe her.
"I infiltrated as a dungeon guard. If you can break the lock, I can use super-tier magic to get you out!"
Eve couldn't stop shaking her head.
"You have to go... They know you're coming to rescue me, they won't let you take me with you..."
In her view, since Sinley knew that Lorenz would come to rescue her, given the treacherous nature of the Asgardians, she would surely set an ambush and wipe them all out.
Lorenz had no idea about any of this; he just wanted to take Eve away.
Eve was his closest companion on his adventures and the white moonlight he had secretly loved for a long time.
"Don't worry! I have a way to create a doll that looks exactly like you. Once I replace you, you'll be free!"
As the true protagonist of this world, Lorenz has always had ridiculously good luck.
He had only stopped to rest on a boulder by the roadside when he discovered that a super-level magic spell was carved beneath him.
He had only helped an old man who lived in seclusion in the mountains chop firewood for two days, and in return, he received the old man's entire body of knowledge—the magic of puppets.
Puppet magic works from level one to level nine. The higher the level, the more realistic and lifelike the puppet.
With just a single strand of hair, one can transform it into an identical puppet, a classic case of "switching the prince for a cat."
With Lorenz's meticulous comforting words, Eve gradually calmed down.
As she listened to Lorenz's meticulous plan and looked at the puppet that looked exactly like her, which had appeared beside her, a slight wavering arose in her heart.
If she could, she wouldn't want to die. She wanted to live, to avenge her parents, and to wash away the shame from her family.
"Can we really do this?" she asked cautiously.
"Don't worry, I'm here, everything will be fine."
Lorenz's tall and resolute appearance made Eve understand her choice.
As the door was unlocked, she was rescued, and the doll was hoisted back to its original position.
The two seemed to already see a bright future after escaping this place...
"Eve, after we get out... can I pursue you?"
Eve blushed upon hearing this: "You... I'm a witch! This will only harm you..."
Seeing her embarrassed and flustered appearance, Lorenz became even more certain of his guess.
Let's go!
He tried to take Eve's hand, but she carefully avoided it.
"I...I am a witch now, and the high concentration of magic overflowing from my body will hurt you..." Eve nervously took two steps back, her eyes darting around.
Lorenz paused for a moment, then smiled and said, "It's alright, I will prove my love for you every day from now on—"
Super-level magic activated.
A bright light enveloped the two of them.
The powerful magical circuit triggered by the transcendental magic instantly activated the soul magic that Sinley had inscribed within Eve's body. In an instant, Eve's teleportation trajectory was disrupted.
Lorenz was teleported to a place thousands of miles away from the royal city.
Eve was teleported to Sinley's bedroom.
She fell unexpectedly onto the soft, comfortable carpet, her face still flushed from their earlier conversation.
"Where...am I?"
Eve sat up blankly from the carpet. The unfamiliar surroundings and the disappearance of Lorenz made her wary once again.
The soft, large bed was made neatly and flat. On the desk next to it were several old notebooks, and the rest of the magic books, explanations of physical techniques, and complete guides to meditation were covered with colorful labels. The yellowed pages were filled with neat and resolute notes.
On the other side, the meditation cushions had been worn smooth and shiny from sitting on them. There were also various training machines I had never seen before: a bar shaped like a gate, a reclining chair that looked like a guillotine, and iron discs of different lengths and sizes strung together and arranged from largest to smallest.
Besides the bookshelves crammed full of books, the walls were also adorned with longswords with chipped and dulled blades.
It's clear that the room's owner, while not necessarily possessing all the qualities of morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor, is at least well-rounded in both physical and mental aspects and is extremely diligent and hardworking.
As a young lady from a fallen noble family, Eve naturally deduced from the workmanship and materials of the bed, as well as the rare and unique books in the world, that this was no ordinary family.
But the place was so simple, with almost no decoration, that she couldn't figure out who lived there.
Until she curiously opened one of the notebooks.
On the title page, two bold and powerful characters immediately catch the eye:
Xinlai.
The hazy memory of the time before I fell unconscious in the cage resurfaced.
Xinlai pulled down half of her clothes to her chest, grabbed her shoulders, and began to draw intricate and complex magical circuits on her body...
In an instant, Eve understood everything.
The blush on her face quickly faded, replaced by a deathly paleness.
She realized that Sinley's words were no joke. No matter how meticulous Lorenz's plan was, it couldn't prevent Sinley from taking steps on her beforehand.
Despair crept into my heart silently.
She recalled the women her age she had met before her family was purged.
They were treated as commodities to gain power and status, as marriage tools to bind politics and interests, and as playthings for men to satisfy their lust.
Even though there has never been any scandal involving Sin Lai in the rumors, the more skilled a man is at disguising himself, the more dangerous he is.
She didn't believe those men's lies and promises, so naturally she wouldn't easily trust someone like Sinlai, who had grown up in the treacherous Asgardian royal family.
She did not hesitate and considered ending her own life.
But whenever this thought arose, some deeper obsession would always pull her back.
Her mother's whereabouts were unknown, her father was being escorted back to the capital, and her family had fallen into ruin... all of this told her that she had to live on, for herself, for her family, and for her clan to seek justice.
So she chose to pick up a dagger and kill Xinlai... which can be considered a form of revenge.
My thoughts returned to the present moment.
Eve's hands began to tremble slightly, and her sweaty hands had soaked the hilt of the dagger.
If I kill him, I can regain my freedom. Who knows, I might even find Lorenz and escape to the ends of the earth with him…
Hurry up and do it, Eve... What are you hesitating about?
Think about your future, think about your family, think about Lorenz who is still waiting for you...
"Huh...?"
Suddenly Eve felt Xinlai beneath her attacking her, the pressure feeling uncomfortable...
By the time Eve realized what it was, it was too late.
Her face flushed instantly, and her desire to kill the person beneath her grew even stronger!
But more than anything, there was shame and indignation.
grunt.
After much agonizing and hesitation, Eve decided that her top priority was to preserve her innocence.
She swallowed nervously, carefully rolled off Xinlai, and then, like a frightened cat, shrank into a corner, breathing heavily on Xinlai.
Disgusting! Perverted! Rogue! Shameless! Lecherous!
A thousand words were condensed into the girl's heaving chest, turning her plump little watermelons into big watermelons in anger.
She stood with her legs together, curled up warily, her whole body like a taut bow.
She's not stupid; even if Xinlai tells her to leave, she can't.
Not to mention that the castle is incredibly large, even regular residents would get lost, let alone someone who is new to the place and unfamiliar with the area.
Moreover, as a prince, Xinlai must have many guards and servants, scattered throughout every corner of his territory, so no matter how far he ran, he would have nowhere to hide.
Furthermore, she couldn't remove the magic-blocking cloth from her body by herself, and therefore couldn't use her magic.
If they were to run into the territory of another prince, their fate would likely be even worse...
Fear and anxiety overwhelmed her like a tidal wave. Eve felt like a pitiful creature stranded on a deserted island at sea, with no chance to even cry for help.
"well……"
Eve, filled with fear and anxiety, didn't even dare to close her eyes all night, staring intently at Xinlai until dawn broke.
