Chapter 359: Hanging Lanterns in the Tavern
Chapter 359: Hanging Lanterns in the Tavern
Xiaoyu looked at Yuyu with a smile and said gently, "Okay, Yuyu, go and rest."
Yuyu blinked and tilted her head and said, "Mom, shouldn't we hang up lanterns now? Hanging bright red lanterns in the tavern will definitely make the New Year atmosphere more intense."
As she spoke, she pointed to the brand new red lanterns piled in the corner, her eyes full of anticipation.
Xiaoyu looked in the direction of her finger and sighed softly, her eyes full of pampering: "Look at my memory. I was so busy letting you rest that I forgot about this matter."
Li Hao was drinking tea on the side. Upon hearing this, he put down his teacup and stood up: "I'll help. Let's hang it together and it will be done soon."
Yuyu clapped her hands excitedly: "Okay, okay, I'll go get the ladder."
As he said this, he skipped and went to prepare the tools for hanging lanterns. The tavern became busy again, filled with the strong atmosphere of the New Year.
Yu Yu hummed a cheerful tune and laboriously moved the ladder to the door of the tavern.
Seeing this, Li Hao hurried forward to take it and set it up steadily.
Xiaoyu opened the box containing the lanterns and took out the big red lanterns one by one.
Yuyu stood at the foot of the ladder, looking up, gesturing excitedly with her hands: "Brother Lihao, hang a big lantern over here. Hang it high so passersby can see it from afar!"
Li Hao responded, carefully climbed up the ladder, took the big lantern handed to him by Xiaoyu, tied the rope skillfully, and hung it gently. The big lantern hung steadily under the eaves.
Then, Yuyu picked up another small lantern and ran to the other side of the tavern: "Let's hang this small one over here, it looks nice too!"
She stood on tiptoe and tried to pass the lantern to Li Hao, but she couldn't reach it.
Li Hao came down from the ladder with a smile, took the small lantern, climbed up the ladder again, and hung it in the appropriate place.
In this way, the three of them divided the work and hung the lanterns one after another.
Soon, the eaves and pillars of the tavern were hung with lanterns of all sizes.
The big lanterns are festive, and the small lanterns are exquisite and unique. They sway gently in the breeze, and the red halos are intertwined, making the tavern particularly warm and full of the strong flavor of the New Year.
Yuyu looked at the lanterns everywhere in the tavern, her eyes sparkling, and she clapped her hands excitedly and cheered, "Wow, it's so beautiful! Our tavern suddenly feels like Chinese New Year!"
She spun around, her eyes moving between the lanterns, unable to hide the smile on her lips.
Just then, a group of little ones came running over. Two energetic Huskies leaped up and down, occasionally sniffing the lanterns. The local dogs followed behind, tongues lolling and tails wagging. The Pomeranian and Bichon Frise, like two furry little balls, scampered between the larger dogs. The Corgis, trudging along on their short legs, looked adorable, struggling to keep up. And the calico cat, with its graceful cat-like gait, occasionally jumped onto a nearby box, overlooking the bustle.
Yuyu was amused by this scene and burst into laughter. She quickly squatted down and opened her arms: "Come on, come on, don't run away, let's celebrate the New Year together!"
The little ones seemed to understand what she said and gathered around her. For a moment, people and animals were making a noise, and laughter echoed in the tavern full of lanterns.
Xiaoyu watched Yuyu and the other little guys having fun, with a smile on her face, and called softly, "Okay, okay, Yuyu, it's getting late, go back and rest."
Yuyu was squatting on the ground, scratching the husky's chin with one hand and teasing the calico cat at her feet with the other. She responded with an unsatisfied look: "Mom, wait a minute. Look how happy they are. It's so lively during the New Year. Let's play for a while longer."
As she spoke, she took out a small piece of snack from her pocket and handed it to the corgi who was wagging its tail.
The little ones surrounded the fish, fighting over it and making all kinds of cheerful noises, making the tavern even more lively and warm.
Yu Yu chewed a piece of dessert, her cheeks puffed up, and asked vaguely, "Mom, will there be lanterns hanging in the courtyard tomorrow?" Her eyes were bright and full of anticipation.
Xiaoyu smiled and nodded, responding softly: "Yes, yes, the courtyard is also hung with lanterns, and it's a lively New Year's celebration." Thinking of the house decorated with lights tomorrow, Xiaoyu's eyes were full of longing.
Yuyu swallowed the snack in her mouth, stood up excitedly, and clapped her hands: "Great! Tomorrow I will pick the biggest and most beautiful lantern and hang it at the gate of the house, so that everyone will be amazed when they visit!"
The pets nearby seemed to sense her excitement and began to bark happily, as if cheering for the upcoming lively celebration.
Xiaoyu smiled and gently pulled Yuyu's hand: "Okay, it's really time to rest. We still have a lot of things to do tomorrow."
Yuyu looked reluctantly at the lanterns hanging all around, then looked at the cats and dogs surrounding her, and said in a louder voice: "Cats and dogs, it's time for you to go back to your den, and we should rest too!"
The calico cat stretched and walked slowly towards its nest; the two Huskies were a little reluctant, and only after Yu Yu's repeated urging did they walk over with their tails hanging down; the local dogs, Pomeranians, Bichon Frise and Corgi were obedient and went back to their respective nests and lay down.
Yu Yu nodded in satisfaction and walked into the house hand in hand with Xiao Yu.
Along the way, Yu Yu was still mumbling about his plan to hang lanterns tomorrow.
After a while, the tavern gradually became quiet in the dim light of lanterns.
Yuyu had already taken a few steps into the house when she suddenly seemed to remember something. Her eyes lit up, and she turned and ran to Xiaoyu, asking anxiously, "Mom, aren't we going over to the courtyard now?"
Her face was full of anticipation, and her little face was filled with impatience.
Xiaoyu smiled helplessly, gently touched Yuyu's head, and said, "Look, it's so late now. Everyone is tired after a day, and it's not convenient to do things at night. Let's go over tomorrow, make good arrangements, and have a lively New Year's Eve, okay?"
After hearing this, Yuyu's eyes flashed with disappointment, but she quickly cheered up and nodded sensibly: "Okay, Mom, let's go there early tomorrow."
After saying that, she took another look at the pets' nest in the corner, then followed Xiaoyu back to the room to rest and prepare for the happy time in the mansion tomorrow.
Yuyu held Xiaoyu's hand, her eyes full of seriousness: "Then you must wake me up tomorrow, and don't let me oversleep."
She was looking forward to going to the house to decorate it tomorrow and was afraid of missing it.
Xiaoyu smiled dotingly and nodded repeatedly: "Okay, okay, Mom will definitely wake you up early tomorrow. Go to sleep quickly and get enough rest so that you can happily decorate the house tomorrow."
Yu Yu felt relieved, yawned, climbed onto the bed and got under the quilt.
After a while, the sound of even breathing could be heard, and she fell into a deep sleep with anticipation for tomorrow.
Xiaoyu looked at her daughter sleeping soundly, gently tucked the corner of the quilt for her, and quietly returned to her room to rest, waiting for the arrival of a new day.
