Chapter 238 Roast for Me
Chapter 238 Roast for Me
Lu Mingyang watched the female soldiers walk away, grabbed Chu Mingzheng's collar, and kissed him suddenly. Turning around, she saw Zhu Xin leading the horse. She was so embarrassed that she wanted to punch the man behind her into the ground.
Zhu Xin remained calm and bowed his head in greeting.
"Your Highness, Fourth Miss, the eldest lady is asking you, are you going back to the barracks?"
Lu Mingyang murmured softly, "I'm going back home with His Highness today."
"I understand." Zhu Xin saluted, mounted his horse and left with a smile on his face.
Lu Mingyang blushed: "What does she know... Ouch..."
Chu Mingzheng turned his horse, and she crashed into his arms. He galloped with her, the cold wind raging. But she leaned against his arms, feeling warm and at peace.
In the distance, the clear water pool is looming in the clouds and mist.
Lu Mingyang pointed over and said, "Your Highness, did you let those two white geese go?"
Chu Mingzheng shook his head.
"Then let's go and see them." Once, she thought that the two white geese were hunted by him for Qin Miao, and she had never taken a good look at them.
"The city gate is about to close." Chu Mingzheng reminded.
Lu Mingyang asked, "Then let's go back tomorrow morning, okay?"
"Okay!" Chu Mingzheng changed direction.
The weather was getting a bit chilly, and the wild geese were confined to the Glazed Pavilion. Lu Mingyang stood outside, watching the geese flutter over the flowers. Their graceful movements filled the sky with petals. While magnificent, their space was only a small one.
"Your Highness, can we let them go now?"
"I'm afraid it's impossible. The geese that spend the winter have already flown away. They won't be able to catch up with the flock and might be in danger."
Before Chu Mingzheng finished speaking, Lu Mingyang excitedly patted Chu Mingzheng, "Your Highness, look."
Chu Mingzheng looked up and saw a flock of wild geese flying by. They should have already flown south, but now they were half a month late. Lu Mingyang hurriedly opened the door to the Glazed Pavilion and let the geese out.
The white geese, accustomed to the warmth of the greenhouse, instinctively flew away from the cold wind entrance. Lu Mingyang pulled Chu Mingzheng inside to chase the geese. The geese flew away from the greenhouse, spun several times in the air, and flew high into the sky.
"Fly, fly to the free world that belongs to you."
Lu Mingyang watched the two white geese catch up with the flock, his eyes filled with envy. Chu Mingzheng had never seen such an envious look before, and subconsciously held the girl beside him.
"What's wrong?" Lu Mingyang turned his head.
Chu Mingzheng opened his mouth, but remained silent.
Lu Mingyang's cheeks flushed, and he gently scratched his palm, "Are you still angry?"
"No!" Chu Mingzheng smiled indulgently.
"Then why don't you take me back to the house!" The implication was too obvious. Lu Mingyang glared at him fiercely in embarrassment. "It's so cold, do you want to freeze me to death?"
Chu Mingzheng took her hand and went back to the library and asked, "What do you want to eat?"
Lu Mingyang looked at the green lake in front of him, his eyes lit up: "I want to eat fish."
"Then I'll have someone cook the fish!"
Lu Mingyang shook his head and pointed to the pond in the distance. "Catch one yourself and roast it for me."
Chu Mingzheng looked straight at the girl in front of him.
"Go!" Lu Mingyang pushed him over.
For Chu Mingzheng, catching a fish was easy. He broke off a branch, threw it into the pond, and then jumped up to pick it up. A fat sea bass appeared in his hand.
"Is this okay?" he asked.
Lu Mingyang nodded.
Chu Mingzheng took her hand and left, but Lu Mingyang held on and didn't move: "Just roast it here."
"Isn't it cold anymore?"
"The fire keeps you warm."
"Okay, it's up to you."
Chu Mingzheng was confused about what the little girl was thinking, but he still agreed and built a simple grill with branches. However, the fire with branches was too smokey, so he asked someone to bring charcoal. He also sent cakes and drinks.
The wine was red wine, emitting a purple glow and extremely mellow, but Lu Mingyang felt a little disappointed.
"Why isn't it Qiu Lubai?"
Chu Mingzheng asked: "Don't you like drinking wine?"
"But I want to drink Qiulubai today." She remembered that the first time they drank alcohol, they drank Qiulubai, and he even taught her how to warm the wine.
"Then I'll let them get it!"
"never mind!"
Lu Mingyang stopped Chu Mingzheng, leaned on his shoulder, and said lazily: "Just drink this. I don't want to be annoyed by people walking around."
After that, she held Chu Mingzheng's hand as he grilled the fish and asked proudly, "You've never grilled fish before, right? Let me teach you."
How could Chu Mingzheng have never grilled anything before? But he still obediently followed the little girl's instructions to grill the fish. Even though he knew the fish might be burnt, he did not remind her to turn it over.
"Okay, you can eat."
Lu Mingyang sprinkled spices on it and motioned him to take down the grilled fish.
But Chu Mingzheng felt that the outside of the fish was burnt, and the inside was not yet cooked. Chu Mingzheng threw away the burnt part, tore off a piece of fish that looked good, and fed it into Lu Mingyang's mouth.
"Not bad, you're teachable," Lu Mingyang complimented him with satisfaction, then began to drink. The wine wasn't strong, but it made her cheeks flush slightly, and she looked a bit tipsy.
Chu Mingzheng tore off another piece of cooked fish and fed her again.
Lu Mingyang shook his head, with little stars in his eyes: "Chu Mingzheng, I don't actually want to eat fish, I just like to see you being obedient."
"I can see it." The red light of the charcoal fire shone on Chu Mingzheng's face, burning it red.
The black cloak on his body untied and fell to the ground. Lu Mingyang lay on Chu Mingzheng, arms around his neck, and hinted aggrievedly: "It's cold!"
"Then...shall we go back to the room?" Chu Mingzheng asked cautiously.
"Okay." Lu Mingyang grinned.
Chu Mingzheng lifted the delicate woman sideways. Her delicate hand, clasped behind her neck, held a bottle of wine. The purple wine swayed within the glass bottle, shimmering in the moonlight.
Lu Mingyang's fingertips lost strength, and the glass bottle shattered along the man's back on the ground, with a purple light and the aroma of wine filling the ground.
Inside the library, Chu Mingzheng placed the woman in his arms on the bed and pulled the quilt over her. Lu Mingyang looked at the well-behaved man in surprise, frantically grabbing his arm as he tried to leave.
"Where are you going?"
"I still have some official business to attend to. You go to sleep first."
"Then I wait for you."
Chu Mingzheng didn't answer. He gently kissed the slightly cool forehead and stood up to go to his desk. But he had no official business to attend to, so he could only pick up a book and pretend to read.
Page after page, Chu Mingzheng looked up at the girl on the bed, meeting her clear eyes. She was half-leaning against the headboard, also reading a book, her shoulders half exposed, a hint of her red bra was faintly visible behind the book.
Chu Mingzheng quickly looked away and switched to another book. He read three books in a row, but the woman on the bed showed no sign of wanting to sleep. She didn't say a word, but just stared at the man in the candlelight.
Chu Mingzheng blew out the candle, stood up and walked over.
Lu Mingyang quickly put down his book and lay down on the quilt to make room for the newcomer. Chu Mingzheng took off his outer garment and lay down on it.
"Go to sleep!" he said.
Lu Mingyang: “…”
