Chapter 1243 - 1238: Boyfriend (1)

Ji Yanche let out a low laugh, savoring the rare chance to see this girl clinging to him like this, thoroughly enjoying it.Seeing that he wasn’t responding, Ruge angrily opened her eyes and punched him right in the chest. "Ji! Yan! Che! You’re totally laughing at me, aren’t you?"

The smile at the corner of Ji Yanche’s mouth hadn’t even had time to fade when he put on an innocent look. "When did I ever laugh at you?"

Even though he was wearing a mask and his eyes looked all cute and innocent, Ruge just knew it!

"You’re obviously laughing!"

"Alright, alright." Ji Yanche reached out and ruffled her little head like he was coaxing a kid. "Be good, your gege will protect you."

Honestly, it was like fate itself.

Ruge and Ji Yanche were born in the same year and the same month, with Ji Yanche being one day older, and he’d always held that up as his banner to call himself Ruge’s older brother.

Too bad Ruge had never acknowledged it.

Plus, Ruge had always been very strong-willed, hardly ever showing any weakness or fear in front of Ji Yanche.

Ah, xi ba, she really overestimated her own courage.

Coming to this haunted house today was a huge mistake.

Totally ruining her lifelong heroic reputation!

Seeing Ji Yanche taking advantage of the moment to put on his big-brother act, Ruge angrily kicked him. "Go to hell. If you won’t take me out, then forget it. I can walk out on my own. All these scary things are fake anyway!"

Ji Yanche let Ruge kick him without dodging in the slightest, and even grinned playfully. "Oh? Really?"

This damned bastard, just wait till we get out of here, I’ll show him.

Ruge turned around and walked off.

Who knew that after just a couple of steps, a white "ghostly shadow" suddenly jumped out right in front of her.

With the creepy special-effect music swelling, Ruge froze for a second, then her little face instantly collapsed.

"Ah—"

A bloodcurdling scream rang out again.

Ruge spun around and dove straight into Ji Yanche’s arms, wrapping both arms tightly around his waist. She kept her eyes shut, her eyelashes trembling. "Is that ghost thing from just now gone yet?"

She clearly knew it was fake.

But she was still scared, what was she supposed to do!

"Mm..." The smile in Ji Yanche’s eyes deepened. He took the chance to press her even further into his chest, lifting his gaze toward the ghostly figure that had just flashed by, but his mouth said, "Not yet, it’s still floating around."

"Ahhhh." Ruge burrowed even closer into Ji Yanche’s arms. "You are not allowed to shove me out there."

Ji Yanche was so mischievous, who knew if he’d seize the chance to get back at her!

As if I’d ever push you away...

Ji Yanche brought one arm up and completely tucked her head into his chest, holding her even tighter.

Screams from other visitors kept echoing around them.

Ruge still didn’t dare open her eyes, and for the first time ever she felt that being by Ji Yanche’s side was actually this full of security.

"Has that scary thing left yet?"

"Not yet."

Another ten seconds or so passed.

"What about now?"

Ji Yanche’s voice carried a trace of delighted laughter; his bright tone was tinged with a faint huskiness. "Wait a little longer."

Suddenly realizing something was off, Ruge opened her eyes.

All around them it was quiet and still, nothing was happening.

The terrifying ghostly shadow from before had long since vanished without a trace.

He’d played her!

"Ji! Yan! Che!"

Ji Yanche was bear-hugging Ruge, rubbing his chin against the top of her head. "You’re so comfy to hold, even better than my Little Yellow."

Little Yellow was the Rilakkuma plushie Ji Yanche always kept by his side.

No matter which corner of the world he went to for schedules, Ji Yanche would bring it along.
