Chapter 1111: Let’s Get Married
Chapter 1111: Let’s Get Married
Vincent Warner’s mention of a client in Spain doesn’t exist, and Stella Charlie knows this.Stella Charlie followed Vincent Warner out of the restaurant and said, "Mr. Warner, just say what you have to say. After working all day, it’s better to clarify things early, so I can go back to rest sooner."
Vincent Warner paused, turned around to look at her, his eyes deep yet tender.
Stella Charlie didn’t offer him much patience, and said coldly, "If there’s really nothing, then I’ll go."
Just as she started to walk away, Vincent Warner reached out and grabbed her wrist: "Stella, let’s get married."
Stella Charlie was first taken aback; she had fantasized about hearing these words countless times, but now, it’s too late for her.
She withdrew her hand, chuckled softly, "Mr. Warner must have had too much to drink, go home early and rest."
"This time I’ve prepared to lose everything. I won’t leave you for anything anymore."
Stella Charlie lowered her head, cast her eyes downward, and turned her back: "But I don’t need it anymore."
On the bustling street, Vincent Warner suddenly pulled Stella Charlie tightly into his arms from behind: "Let me make it up to you, alright? The days without you have been really hard, you don’t know how I’ve gotten through these years."
With her back to him, Stella Charlie’s voice was hoarse: "Do you know how I got through when I was with you back then?"
"I considered you my everything, fearing every day that you might leave me."
"The promises you made, I took seriously, and I once believed you would fulfill those promises."
"I stayed in that house every day waiting for you to come back, and perhaps you knew then that you were all I had left, no matter how long you stayed away, I wouldn’t leave. So you had nothing to fear, treating me hot and cold."
Feeling distressed, Vincent Warner furrowed his brow, tightening the arm around her waist: "I’m sorry, I neglected your feelings."
Hearing his apology, Stella Charlie swallowed the grievances she hadn’t yet voiced.
She also felt that saying these things now was essentially meaningless.
"We can’t go back, don’t come to me with this again. Please let me go."
Vincent Warner slowly released her, looking down at Stella Charlie: "If we can’t go back, let’s start over."
Stella Charlie remained turned away from him, silent for a moment and said nothing, waved down a taxi by the side of the road, not casting Vincent Warner another glance.
In the taxi, Stella Charlie’s heart wasn’t as cold and calm as her appearance.
She didn’t want to admit it, but she clearly knew that when Vincent Warner spoke those words, her original resolve was wavering.
She was internally asking herself whether to give each other another chance.
But she was also afraid of repeating the past, tearing open scars that had barely healed.
At the hotel entrance, as Stella Charlie stepped out of the car, she saw a black Mercedes pull to a stop at the hotel door.
Just as the car door opened, Stella Charlie saw a familiar face.
Chloe Swift, with her large belly, had just stepped out of the car when Bryce Sue hurried around the car to assist her, gently reminding her, "Be careful."
Chloe Swift smiled lightly: "It’s fine, it’s just a few steps, you’re still worried?"
Stella Charlie wasn’t sure of Chloe Swift’s current situation, but their meetings in the past were never pleasant.
To avoid any unnecessary trouble, she quickly turned around, pretending not to see.
Yet Chloe Swift called out to her from behind: "...Miss Charlie?"
Stella Charlie paused in the hotel lobby upon hearing Chloe Swift say: "Honey, you go ahead. She’s my friend; we haven’t seen each other for a while and I’d like to chat with her."
